An American influencer has revealed how she ‘takes control of her fertility’ by flying to Britain to freeze her eggs.
Brittany Allyn, 37, from New York, got to work TikTok to announce the transformative decision after a life of “adventure, career” and “not settling for love in my 30s.”
Egg freezing, also known as egg cryopreservation, involves harvesting and freezing a woman’s eggs so she can attempt pregnancy at a later date through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
The tech marketer turned content creator added that she’s still “not ready to start a family,” but opted for the procedure because she wants the opportunity to become a mother “one day.”
She revealed that she went to London for the procedure because at $6,000 it would cost “a third” of the price – compared to $15,000 in the US.

Her video inspired a wave of supportive messages from fellow women, who also shared their egg-freezing experiences.
Documenting the trip, she said, “This is the story of a single thirtysomething living in New York City who goes to London to freeze my eggs for a third of the cost.
“I had a life full of adventure, career and no settling for love in my thirties. And you know what? I want to do that for a while.’
She said that while she was happy to save a lot of money by undergoing the procedure in London, she was “afraid” that it might not work out.
“I want to show you the reality of it all,” Brittany continued.
The singleton said she would be “honest” about her emotions throughout the process and document it all for fans.
“I hope my story can help show you another option for getting your fertility back at a fraction of the cost,” Brittany concluded.
Her favorite clinic was the Harley Street Fertility Clinic in West London, where she filmed a fragment of the building and commented ‘how beautiful the offices are here’.
Finally, she revealed that the entire process would take two weeks, once again inviting her followers to join them.

The response to the video was positive across the board and offered a realistic view of motherhood.
One parent wrote, “Being an older mom is HARD. I had my first three in my twenties, early thirties, I could do so much! I had my last one at 40 and it was exhausting.
Brittany admitted, “I worry sometimes, but I’m also so happy to have lived my independent life and created memories all these years.
“
“I just turned 35 and I plan to freeze my eggs early next year. I’m so glad I saw this!’ said a doctor.
Someone else wrote, “I froze my eggs this year and you were a great inspiration.
“
Another person revealed that the procedure costs £4,500 in Scotland.
Meanwhile, another commenter applauded Brittany for “representing” single people: “YAY! Congratulations, I’m on day six of egg freezing. Much of the content around IVF and egg freezing is about couples! Thank you for representing us.’
Last year, Brittany told Buzz feed that her decision was a “form of insurance for having a baby down the road.”
She added: “I think it’s a special opportunity that our generation has that allows us to regain some control over our fertility.
“I think I can have a child naturally at 40, but I may need help in my early 40s.”
