I'm single and after returning to Australia I noticed something very different about the men here

A single woman has made a “controversial” statement about men and expressed her frustrations about dating in Australia compared to abroad.

The woman, who goes by the nickname @ihalts on TikTok, claimed Australian men are “too scared” to approach women or “don't know how to do it”.

She added that she feels like women should “make the first move” over men, which is a “change in the dynamic.”

'The problem with that is I don't know how to approach someone. How do you ask a man out? Are you just going to see them?' she said in one video.

The woman said she isn't currently using dating apps and doesn't want to, so her only option is to meet someone.

The single woman expressed her frustrations on TikTok about dating in Australia and says it's harder to date Down Under compared to the rest of the world

At the start of the clip she said: 'This may be a bit controversial, but I'm convinced that Australian men are either too scared to ask girls out or just don't know how to do it.

“The reason why I know this is because when I'm abroad, guys will just approach you.

'My friend from America came over recently and noticed that in Australia they don't get approached, but when they go home there will be five guys running after them in one night.

“I'm not sure what's changed in Australia compared to, say, Europe or America, but it's very different here.”

The woman continued to say that it will be difficult to meet a man in public, because she does not go out in the evenings and does not drink alcohol.

“It'll either have to be at the gym or at my cafe,” she said.

The video has been viewed more than 46,000 times and other Australians agreed.

“Because Australian men are lazy at dating, just like they are lazy at abbreviating most words,” one woman wrote.

“I'm about to leave the country, not gonna lie,” said another.

A third woman claimed: 'I agree 100 percent, I decided to approach them, step out of my comfort zone, but if you do that it drives them crazy, so I'm thinking, how am I supposed to meet someone?'

'A few years ago I went to London. More guys came to me than in my entire life in Sydney,” said another.

“I'm telling all my guy friends to just go for it from now on,” someone else wrote.
