A woman was shocked when her boyfriend went to a nude sauna with his niece and friends, but he doesn't see the problem with his actions.
She thought it was “weird” for her partner to go to the sauna with other women when she wasn't there, and was “specifically annoyed” at the thought of him being naked around his cousin.
The 30-year-old man shared his side of the story on Reddit, where he defended his actions and claimed his girlfriend was “overreacting.”
He explained that everyone involved was German and lived in Germany – where it was 'normal' to go to the sauna naked.
'A week ago I was on holiday with some friends and cousins, but my girlfriend, 28, didn't come because she was sick. Some evenings we all went to the sauna together, completely naked of course.'

He continued: 'When I got home I told my girlfriend about the trip and mentioned the sauna. She got irritated and said she thought it was strange of me to go to the sauna with other women when she wasn't there.'
The man explained that the sauna was a unique environment and that otherwise he would 'never' be naked around his family or friends.
He said: 'She told me earlier that she doesn't want me to go to the sauna with other girls and I told her that I think she is overreacting and that I don't just go with girls, I just go with everyone.
'My girlfriend thinks it's strange not wanting to avoid seeing your family members naked. She said that at this age she has not seen any of her male cousins or brothers naked and that she would find it uncomfortable to see their genitals.”
He also revealed that the girlfriend has no problem with him seeing a female doctor or watching adult films, but she was uncomfortable with the fact that he personally knew the women he saw naked.
'We previously went to a unisex sauna with friends, with two male friends and their girlfriends. She said she didn't feel too uncomfortable at the time because she was there and is friends with the girls and knows they have boyfriends.”
Many agreed with the man and did not see the problem with his actions.
“It was 75 percent family so it's creepy that she sexualizes it,” one person said. “But even if it's not family, if she doesn't trust you, then that's her problem and she needs to figure out how to deal with it.”
Another added: 'It's really a cultural thing. Going to the sauna naked with your friends (in Germany) is the same as going for coffee. During my field trip to college, we went to the sauna together with our professors and all the male and female students.
'Yes, you can sit naked next to your fellow students and professors and just talk about the day. If you think inappropriately, the problem is you.”
But others criticized him for “disrespecting” a “reasonable” boundary.
'Respect your girlfriend's boundaries. If she doesn't want you to see other naked women, that's completely understandable. If my boyfriend ever did something like that I would 100 percent break up with her,” one woman wrote.
“Even as someone from Germany I wouldn't want my boyfriend to do that and I don't want to be naked with my male friends either,” said another.
“She asked you not to do it, you did it anyway, and now you're shocked that she's upset? She set a boundary, you crossed it. That's all there is to it and you're desperately trying to pick apart the semantics to be right,” someone said.
