I’m a flight attendant – these are the dirtiest parts of the plane

It’s no secret that planes aren’t the cleanest ships to travel in, but a flight attendant has shared the most horrifying parts of the plane – with some surprising spots.

Cher, a Texas-based cabin crew expert, has been working in the sky for five years and recently shared the places she would consider the grossest.

“Some of these you can expect,” she teased in one TikTok video. “And some may be a surprise.”

“First of all, I’ve never seen the window blinds wiped away in my career,” she said.

She then complained about how many people touch the shades, noting that they “never get wiped off.”

“They’re filthy,” she declared.

Cher then revealed another stomach-churning fact about airplane bathrooms: She revealed that people often throw up in the sink, admitting that she’s seen it “countless times.”

“If you drop anything in there, I consider it a loss,” she advised.

“I’ve never seen the sinks cleaned.”

Cher also said that sink water should be avoided, and that there’s a reason you shouldn’t drink from it.

‘[It’s] gross,” she said, adding that it has “so much” bacteria in it.

“So washing your hands with it probably isn’t great,” she added helpfully.

The flight attendant added that it “constantly” breaks her nails and makes them brittle.

“Number one, I’ve never seen the window blinds wiped off in my career,” Cher said

Users were shocked by how dirty planes actually are

While staying in the toilet, Cher said that “not once” in her career has she seen the toilet being cleaned.

As for the carpet, Cher is seen throwing up and the passengers rubbing their bare toes on it – much to her horror.

Although they keep you safe, Cher warned that seat belts are one of the dirtiest parts of the seat.

“Not just the buckle part,” she shared. “I’ve seen blow-out diapers and thrown up on them countless times.”

The overhead bins are also a warning zone, with Cher pointing out that people drag their luggage through bathrooms and then put it in the bins.

“I love to Lysol my bag,” she shared.

Cher added that all of these are reasons why she would “never” do her skin care on a plane and why she “won’t rub my hands on these gross surfaces and then touch her face and skin.”

Users were shocked by how dirty planes actually are.

‘For the price of a ticket, the plane must be thoroughly cleaned DAILY!!’ one user raged.

“So what gets cleaned on a plane??” another joked.

“I always bring sanitizing wipes and wipe down every touchpoint as soon as I sit down. I’m so surprised I don’t see more people doing the same thing,” another added.

Cher previously went viral after sharing a video revealing things she wouldn’t do as a flight attendant.

She said she would never wear shorts, use the plane’s toilet paper or ring the bell to hand over the flight attendant’s trash.
