I’m a female solo traveller these are the FIVE Asian countries I felt safest in… one I was pleasantly surprised by

A solo female traveller has revealed the five countries where she felt safest during her Asian holiday.

Courtney posted on TikTok about her experiences on the continent while traveling solo. Under the handle @shetravelledtheworld, she shared her list on the social media platform after visiting 19 countries in Asia.

First of all, she said that Kyrgyzstan was number five on her list. Since it was the first country she visited in Central Asia, the solo backpacker admitted that she wasn’t sure what to expect.

She said: ‘I was pleasantly surprised by how safe I felt all the time, even in the capital Bishkek. English is not widely spoken there but people were always more than happy to help.’

Courtney then praised Thailand for being one of the safest countries she has visited in Asia, stressing that it is “not called the land of smiles for nothing.”

She continued: ‘I always felt completely at home [in Thailand]I would say that it is mainly the noisy tourists that make you feel unsafe in the country.

‘But if that’s not what you’re looking for, there are many more quiet spots in the country that are off the beaten track.’

Third, Courtney mentioned Indonesia as another Asian country that she felt deserved a compliment for the safety she felt during her visit.

The vlogger specifically mentioned Bali for the hospitality they showed there: ‘It’s true that the Balinese are ridiculously friendly and helpful’.

‘I have also visited East Java and Lomboc, as well as some smaller islands near Bali, and I can confirm that the people there are just as friendly.’

Courtney chose Taiwan as the second-to-last area on her list, despite only spending a few days on the island.

The solo traveler said: ‘This was my first experience in East Asia but I felt incredibly safe, especially walking around alone at night.’

Singapore tops her list as the country is consistently ranked as one of the safest countries in the world due to its strict laws aimed at preventing crime.

‘Taiwanese people are a little more reserved and it can feel a little intimidating because it’s a big city, but it’s a new favorite destination of mine.’
