Boy George revealed that during the height of his fame in the 1980s, he had planes waiting for him before they took off.

During I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Wednesdays, the campmates reminisced about the times they were late for work, which led to George remembering how he used to hold flights and then passengers “mocking” him as he boarded.

When discussing the times they were late for work, Seann revealed, “I literally got out of the cab, closed the door, looked at the location…

Back in the day: Boy George revealed that during the height of his fame in the 1980s, he had planes waiting for him before they took off

“I’m not late, but running close to time, closed the door, I looked around, the room was closed … I went to Hereford instead of Hertford.”

Boy George, 61, insisted: ‘I would never be late, I’ll be there hours early. I was there five hours before a show. Never.’

Jill laughed and said, “I’ve never been to the wrong stadium for a game.”

However, Jill did reveal that she showed up to the wrong speaking event once: “I was at 12:30, the guy comes, takes my bag, picks up a microphone.

He says, ‘Oh, Jill, I didn’t even know you were speaking today. I was like, ‘Sorry I’m a little late, I’m probably not the main character,’ joking.

“He gets us on stage, I look up, I’m with Vodafone. I was like, ‘I’m not speaking for Vodafone today’. I was at the wrong call.’

Boy George revealed, “I did a show with Adam Ant in America a few years ago. He ducked a minute before going on stage. Suddenly this car stops, he gets out and continues walking. He must have planned it, it was so brilliant. Everyone was crazy.’

Chris said: ‘I arrived at the studio, got out of the cab, walked in, with the jingle playing… I just walked through the door, put on my headphones and said, ‘Good morning everyone’.

Awkward: Jill Scott (right) revealed that she once showed up at the wrong event where she was supposed to speak

“It was timed perfectly, but we all started laughing instead of going on and being cool.”

Scarlette admitted, “That’s too stressful for me.”

Boy George then said, “I used to run flights in the ’80s. People would scoff, you’d get in… they’d call you in the car, ‘How far are you?’

“I remember one time we went to America, myself and John Cleese were both on our way to the airport, there was traffic jams, it was raining, when you get on that flight and people are like…”

Boy George then said, “I held flights in the ’80s. People would scoff, you’d move on”

Boy George confirmed to Jill that he meant the plane was waiting for him and continued, “Just one of those things in the ’80s. They want you on the run.”

Jill later said in the Bush Telegraph, “That’s just another world to me. I don’t think anyone would hold flights from me.’

George found success with Culture Club in the 1980s with the group’s biggest hits Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me and Time (Clock of the Heart) coming out that decade.
