‘I like his get up and go’: Scarlette Douglas praises Matt Hancock’s ‘drive’ and says they ‘got along’ but admits they won’t be ‘best friends’ on the outside of I I’m A Celebrity

She was the second campmate to be kicked out of the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here camp during the Sunday episode of the show.

And Scarlette Douglas has now revealed her true feelings to the campmates when she appeared on Monday’s Good Morning Britain.

The real estate expert, 35, praised Matt Hancock, saying he had “drive” and was willing to try anything.

But she added that they were dating for the sake of the camp and they probably wouldn’t be “best buddies” on the outside.

When asked if she liked Matt, Scarlette replied, “In the jungle we get along really well but that doesn’t mean we won’t be best friends at all on the outside, but here we just work together as a team and that’s all we can do.

“I like his get up and go, I like the fact that he has drive, I like that he’s determined. I like that he doesn’t give up anything and I generally like those traits.

“So I especially like Matt Hancock… I don’t think I had enough time to really get to know him because when he came in he was trying to win us all over.

“He did his best to make sure he was involved in everything, but for me it was just that I want to make sure we all keep going as a camp.”

Host Richard Arnold added, “The kid can slide, who knew!?, referring to Scarlette teaching the MP how to electric slide.”

Scarlette hilariously joked, “No, he can’t slide!” He can try, I’m going to say so much, but he sure did his best.

“I think that’s what Matt did through everything in the jungle, he just tried. He didn’t shy away from anything, so when I taught him the Electric Slide, it was more like a line dance when he did it, but he did his best anyway, we had a laugh!’

Elsewhere in the interview, Scarlette was asked about her questioning of Boy George surrounding his previous conviction for sexual assault and false imprisonment in 2009.

Scarlett confessed, “I’m going to be honest, I really didn’t know [about Boy George’s previous allegations].

“When he told me I was pretty shocked and of course I wanted to dig deeper, but he pretty much just shut it down and moved on.

“Of course, it’s his story to tell, it’s not mine. So if he doesn’t want to talk about it, that’s on him.’

But Scarlette had nothing but praise for her “brother” Babatunde Aleshe, who said she supported him to be proclaimed King of the Jungle.

She said, “Of course I want Babatunde to win, he’s like my brother now!”
