I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! is reportedly set to return to ITV screens on November 6.

But as ITV prepares to welcome the show back, it appears the Australian camp has been hit by some adverse weather conditions, forcing the site to close.

A spokesperson for the show confirmed to MailOnline that the camp was closed for “24 hours” due to the earth rain.

“We have closed the site for 24 hours as a precaution because of the bad weather,” explains the representative.

While a local source reportedly told the Sun: ‘The camp was closed yesterday because of the extreme rain. No personnel were allowed on site because it was too dangerous.

“They were told to leave the area and broke tools. It meant a precious day of preparation was lost as the crew had to endure a race against time to get the site ready.

But despite the lost time, the source reportedly confirmed that the crew was allowed to return to camp after the day’s hiatus.

The series will air from Australia for the first time since 2019, after COVID restrictions forced the show to head to Gwyrch Castle, North Wales for the past two series.

And according to The sun, the show will air on Sunday, November 6, after it was put forward so as not to clash with the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Last year’s series started on November 21, the exact date the World Cup kicks off in Qatar, and the football competition will run until December 18.

A spokesperson for the show said: ‘We will be announcing the start date for the new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in due time’

The full trailer for the show was released last week as presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly geared up to welcome 12 new famous faces to the camp.

The comical new pre-recorded clip shows the terrified Geordie duo jumping out of a helicopter and skydiving into the jungle.

While Dec hesitates to jump, Ant reminds him that he’s signed a contract, which means they have to legally go everywhere together.

Speculation abounds about this year’s lineup, with stars like Lioness footballer Jill Scott and Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver both tipped to make an appearance.

But we remain tight-lipped about who will go into the jungle, with an ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We will announce our lineup closer to the show’s broadcast.’
