Dinah, who has watched the ITV series from her London home, admitted that she herself was emotional when she saw George upset.
In an exclusive conversation with MailOnline, Dinah said: “George and I are very close and I am so incredibly proud of him.
“He’s always there for me, so his reaction wasn’t a surprise, and I’m waiting to hug him when he gets home.”

George was seen confiding in his campmate Scarlette Douglas, 35, about his bad feelings towards Matt.
He said, ‘You know, at the beginning of the pandemic, my mother was in the hospital. I wasn’t allowed to see her. I thought she was going to die.
‘I tweeted the Greenwich hospital: ‘Please take care of my mother.’ I used my name, I thought, “Please take care of my mother.” And they did, she was fine… I feel like I don’t want to sit here like I’m having fun with him.”
He added, “It’s hard for me because, you know, if anything had happened, if my mom had gone, I would have gone when he came in.”

George also spoke candidly about Matt’s presence in the camp during an on-camera conversation in the Bush Telegraph.
He said, ‘If I had lost my mother, I would go. And I feel a little selfish, you know, just a little… everybody is so nice to him and I was just like Jesus, what are we going to do?
“I don’t want to spoil this experience for myself. I’m not good at hiding what I feel. Especially when it’s that strong.’
Matt first met his campmates on Wednesday’s show when he entered the jungle of I’m A Celeb with comedian Seann Walsh, 36.
George wasn’t the only person annoyed by his arrival, as Chris Moyles, 48, wondered why he was “not working” to serve his constituents, while Mike Tindall, 44, described Matt’s reasoning for appearing in the ITV series as ‘bull* ***.’
