I’m called a bad mum because I wear skimpy tops and like to party … but here’s why trolls are WRONG

Former Teen Mom UK star Mia Boardman has hit back at those who judge her based on her looks, claiming she is a bad mother because she loves to party.

The 25-year-old mother-of-one from Southampton claims she is regularly labeled a ‘bad mother’ simply because of the clothes she chooses to wear and the lifestyle she leads.

With over 320,000 followers on Instagram, the young single parent often faces hateful comments and hordes of trolls every time she uploads a new photo.

But she’s keen to spread the word that you should be able to “live a life without being a mother,” and the trolls are wrong.

Speak with The Sun Fabulous magazine, Mia said: ‘I’m often called a bad mother. I like the clothes I wear that some people say aren’t typical “mom” clothes.

‘And that makes me a bad mother? People have gone so far as to message me and say that my child should be taken away because of the way I am.”

Her daughter Marliya visits her father at the weekend – something Mia says the haters seem to forget.

She said, “If I’m away every weekend, I’m a bad mother when Marliya is actually at her dad’s house.

‘Life doesn’t stop when you have children, for me it’s just begun, but I’m constantly judged because I like to party.

“Of course you have to make so many sacrifices, but I think you should be able to go out and do what you want to do as much as you want to do.

Speaking about teenage mothers in general, Mia told the newspaper: ‘I think people judge us because they think we’re not capable parents.

‘Yes, an older mother has more life experience and perhaps more money, but personally I don’t believe age makes a difference to how good a mother you are.

‘Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t encourage being a young mother because you have to sacrifice a lot and you miss out on the normal teenage things. However, I believe that Marliya made me.

‘So people who want a baby 100 percent young, I wish them all the luck in the world and to ignore the negatives, you can be the best mother at 18 and the best mother at 35. I don’t care what anyone else does. say.’

It comes as the latest series of Teen Mom UK, the show that catapulted Mia to fame, saw her relationship with Marliya’s father Manley Geddes take a turn for the worse.

Mia explains: ‘I couldn’t have had a baby with someone more opposite. If it’s bad, it’s bad, if it’s good, it’s okay. Sometimes it’s empty.’

Last year, the star also opened up about her experiences with domestic abuse after her ex-boyfriend Christopher Brooks pinned her to the ground and strangled her after she refused to sleep with him.

Brooks, of Court Road, Caterham, Surrey, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm in March 2021.

He and Ms Boardman, who lives in Southampton, had remained friends after their one-year relationship ended in February last year.

But Maidstone Crown Court heard things turned nasty when, after spending an afternoon together at Brooks’ then home in Sevenoaks in June, he started questioning her about a man she had dated after they broke up gone.

He took her phone and refused to give it back unless she spent the night with him.

Brooks then told her to swear on her child’s life that she would not see her new husband again.

But when Mrs. Boardman said she could not make such a promise, Brooks reacted strongly.
