Georgia continued, “Compared to this, there is no urgency at all among the men here.

“I feel like guys here don’t make the first move, which is a bit disappointing when you’re very single.”

While the content creator didn’t mind the Australian’s overall, more easy-going approach to life, she did have one request: to make more progress in dating.

“I feel like Australians are a lot more relaxed in general, but if you guys could be a little less relaxed when it comes to dating that would be great. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?’

TikTok users were quick to voice their opinions, with some Australian men taking it upon themselves to defend themselves, but women were also quick to agree with Georgia’s claims.

One admitted: “We’re just afraid of rejection,” and another urged: “Please make it very clear to us.”

Another agreed: ‘Too many people here are toxic and we should not go near them anymore, but rather go camping, it will be much quieter then’.

And one chimed in: ‘Radio literally said only 40% of Australian couples have Valentine’s plans and Australia is the least likely to have plans compared to the world.’

Another said: “Australia is big on equality,” while one man wrote: “Firstly, I just don’t think I’m attractive enough to be anyone’s type.

One woman confessed: ‘Yes, this is why my last two boyfriends were from Britain, even though I’m in Melbourne.’
