I’ve received 500 proposals this year thanks to my Rapunzel hair – men send me the craziest requests

A ‘British Rapunzel’ with six-foot-long locks says she has won more than 500 hearts this year but still hasn’t found Mr Right.

Jasmine Larsen – known as ‘Britain’s real-life Rapunzel’ – from Bristol, became an online sensation after growing her natural red hair to an impressive length of four feet, but her remarkable locks have caught the wrong eye.

The influencer is regularly inundated with attention from her 130,000 Instagram followers – who she claims make strange requests for items such as her personal hairbrush and locks of hair. She also claims to have turned down a fetish style offer to cut her hair for £250,000.

Jasmine – who has a master’s degree in biochemistry – says her hair is now a fixation for ‘rich’ men who ‘flaunt their money 24/7’ and desire her as a wife. But while she acknowledges their deep pockets, their approach has “put me off dating.”

“I’m definitely getting more proposals than last year, I’ve had about 500,” Jasmine lamented.

“To be honest, I’m getting a little tired of them and I usually tell these guys to find someone they really have a personal connection with.

‘I don’t like dating via social media or apps, let alone getting married based on a few photos. It just feels strange. And of course, there are still rich men who try to impress me by showing off their wealth.

‘[Men] I have been ruthless, becoming more persistent and eager to marry me. Meanwhile, I’m here struggling until now!’

The meager romance in her life is not due to a lack of attempts, as the singleton once tried through the dating app Tinder, but without success.

Jasmine says she struggles to shake off attention from rich men on dating apps.

“I used to be on Tinder but decided to delete it,” Jasmine revealed.

‘I felt like I was constantly attracting rich guys who couldn’t stop talking about their money, or people with unusual fetishes.

‘Honestly, I prefer to meet someone in person and let everything flow naturally. I’ve also realized that having great photos on dating apps can sometimes backfire: people put you on a pedestal or get overly fixated.

‘Plus, I’ve attracted rich, flashy men who show off their money 24/7, which has definitely put me off dating. It really made me think about dating!’

Jasmine also shared how a follower offered her £250,000 to cut off her long locks – which she turned down.

Fans are bombarding her with shocking requests, encouraging her to chop off and donate her ‘priceless’ locks.

Jasmine said: ‘I’ve had some really bizarre requests, like asking if I should wrap my hair around a camera, send my hairbrush in the mail or even pick up the hair that fell out naturally and send it to them.

‘It’s also strange when other women express negativity or insist that I donate my hair.

‘In response, I made a follow-up video, which started a conversation about the right to keep our hair and the judgment women face for such choices.

‘Many shared their own experiences and emphasized that it is strange that people feel entitled to have an opinion about something so personal.

“This discussion grew into a broader topic about how women are judged in all aspects of their lives: hair, weight, fashion and more.”

Jasmine, who is currently building her business LARS Haircare, has been growing out her locks since 2017 and recently had her first haircut, even if it was just a short cut.

She said: ‘About 5-10cm was cut off my hair to remove breakage and create a more even, polished look to the ends.

‘The hairdressers did a great job of removing just the right amount to freshen up my ends without significantly affecting my length – a common problem for girls with long hair when they get a haircut in a salon.

‘To make sure this didn’t happen, I came prepared with a measuring tape and repeatedly emphasized that I only wanted 5-10 cm of distance. It 1734716735 feels absolutely amazing’.

Jasmine applies oil to her hair every day and braids it to prevent breakage.

She also says that eating a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables and drinking at least one liter of water a day has played a major role in the growth of her hair.

Jasmine added: ‘My diet is packed with lots of fruit and vegetables. I especially think eggs have been good in helping my hair grow because they are very high in protein.

‘And I think sweet potatoes and vegetables like spinach have been particularly tasty too, as I eat a lot of them.

‘My hair is my natural color. I have never dyed my hair before so I think that has also been very helpful in growing it as it is not damaged by attempts to color or bleach it which is extremely damaging.

‘I wear my hair in a braid or bun every day with oil to protect it and prevent breakage.

‘I even protect my hair while I sleep. I have a satin pillowcase that I sleep on and I also wear a satin hat to bed because my hair is so long that it drips off my satin pillow.

Jasmine rarely applies heat to her hair and only uses styling equipment for special occasions. She believes this has also been a fundamental part of her hair growth journey.

Jasmine said: ‘I only wash my hair once or twice a week and usually let it air dry unless I’m going to a special event.

‘It usually takes a whole day for my hair to completely dry. It’s such a long process.

‘If I’m going somewhere special, I only straighten my hair once a month. By using less heat on my hair, it stops any damage that could cause breakage.

“My hair is naturally straight with a slight kink in it, so I can still create so many great hairstyles with my hair because it’s long without having to use heated appliances.”

About her love life, the content creator says that she has given up on love and prefers to have a more holistic approach to life and focus on herself.

Instead, she will live her “best life” and says dating is “not on her radar right now.”
