A doctor has listed the five toys you should never give a child at Christmas.
Dr. Meghan Martin, from the US, works in the emergency department and knows all too well the dangers of certain gifts.
In a now viral TikTok video the mother of four explained how trampolines, water beads, electric scooters, hoverboards and button battery toys can land children in hospital and sometimes cause death.

First, Dr. said. Martin that any type of toy that requires a button cell battery should not be given to children.
'They keep those little compartments closed with those small, cheap screws, it's not worth it. They can literally kill children, and they do it every year,” she said.
Dr Martin then urged parents to keep water beads away from young children as they can be dangerous if swallowed.
'Water beads are marketed as sensory toys, but small children can swallow them when they are small and they can grow larger and cause intestinal obstructions,' Dr Martin said.
'Don't mess with these with small children as they can cause problems with pets too.'

Third on the list were electric scooters – a popular gift often given to children over eight. But when riding a scooter there is a risk of breaking a bone.
“Kids move too quickly on this,” Dr. Martin said.
“They hit a bump, they go flying, they screw up their face, arms and head – it's bad news.”
Just like scooters, hoverboards should also be avoided at all costs.
“We see so many hoverboard injuries right after Christmas,” the doctor continued, adding, “They break their forearms, elbows and sometimes their heads.”
“Hoverboards can literally set your house on fire.”
In New South Wales it is illegal to ride motorized wheeled objects, including skateboards, hoverboards and electric scooters.

While many Australian families tend to buy trampolines for the kids to enjoy in the backyard, the gift can lead to injuries and land children in the emergency room.
“The number one item on the list won't be a surprise to anyone, it's trampolines,” the doctor said.
'I hate trampolines. They keep the emergency department of the orthopedics team running.
“It doesn't matter if you have a net, it doesn't matter if it's in the ground. Most injuries actually happen on the trampoline.
“I hope you have a nice holiday and don't have to visit me.”
Dr.'s TikTok Martin has since racked up more than 1.3 million views, with other parents agreeing with her points.
'I refuse to buy anything with button batteries and recently water beads. Thank you for spreading awareness!!” wrote one mother.
“Someone just gave us 10,000 water beads, but they never made it into the house,” said another.
“I really wonder how I never broke any bones as a kid, feeling off the trampoline so often,” a third wrote.
