If you’re a Leo, you may be all too familiar with jokes about your “ego.” Elsewhere, those born under the sign of Gemini may have been told they are “two-faced.”
Taurus are – unfairly and inaccurately – branded as lazy, while Scorpios have a damning reputation for jealousy and obsession.
But these caricatures of popular astrology don’t reflect the nuance of the signs, says psychic Inbaal Honigman.
In a conversation with Pyschic Chat Provider, she debunked the most common misconceptions about the zodiac signs.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
MYTH: Aries is constantly angry.
TRUTH: An Aries is happy and playful, if they get angry it won’t be long.
“Aries is ruled by the red planet Mars, planet of sex and war,” Inbaal said.
“That’s why all Aries emotions are big. Their enthusiasm is bombastic. Their joy is unparalleled.’
But on the other side of the coin – ‘their anger can move mountains’.
But the astrology pro assured that these outbursts will likely subside just as quickly as they begin.
“Aries can only sustain such grand emotions for a short time,” she added. “Soon they settle down and become their playful selves again.”
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
MYTH: Bulls are lazy.
TRUTH: Taurus are cautious and will go out of their way to help others.
Inbaal says that, as Earth signs – the most stable element – Taurus’don’t run before they can walk, and don’t keep busy to be moving’.
Those born under this sign are not big fans of risk-taking, preferring to “rest and replenish their resources.”
“They get back up when something is needed,” she added.
“A Taurus goes above and beyond for friends and loved ones, and will be the first to volunteer when something needs to be done.”
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)
MYTH: Gemini has two faces.
TRUTH: Gemini see both sides of the argument.
The two-faced Geminis trope is as common as it is harsh. But Inbaal said this is often a misinterpretation of their diplomatic nature.
“Gemini is represented by the symbol of the twins, which illustrates their dual personality,” she explained.
A Gemini can see both sides of the argument and can be both for and against several important issues.
“It doesn’t look great when they agree with one side and then agree with the exact opposite, but they listen and accept all points of view.”
CANCER (June 21 – July 22)
MYTH: Cancers are too emotional.
TRUTH: Cancers are great listeners and aren’t just interested in their own emotions.
Inbaal defended the zodiac’s cry baby rumors, saying Cancer is all about everyone’s feelings — not just theirs.
“Cancer is a water sign and like other waters, they live and die by their emotions,” she said.
‘They feel things deeply, for themselves, but especially for others. The sign of Cancer is all about family.
They love having everyone in their living room, from blood relatives to close friends who are “like family”.
“Cancers have a great depth of emotion and can give you the space to safely express your own emotions as well.”

LEO (July 23 – August 22)
MYTH: Leos are selfish.
TRUTH: Leos have a love of success that extends to everyone else as well.

“Leo likes success,” she said. “The sign of Leo is ruled by the sun and is therefore bright, visible and larger than life.
‘They try everything and really believe that something like this is not impossible.
“A little-known fact about Leos is that their love of success extends to everyone else.”
These seemingly boastful creatures will be as happy for you as they are for themselves, which is often overlooked.
“They are great agents, mentors and advocates because when they see someone they’ve trained find the success they deserve, the Leo will feel a sense of accomplishment as if they achieved it themselves,” added Inbaal.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
MYTH: Virgos are perfectionists
TRUTH: Virgos aren’t perfectionists, they’re just methodical in the way they approach things.
“Virgo likes to think first and then act,” said the astrologer.
“Instead of taking every opportunity, they take a moment to see if this opportunity really serves their higher purpose, or if it’s just a distraction.”
And Inba explained that this earth sign’s pragmatic nature doesn’t mean they can’t relax.
“A Virgo doesn’t make a fuss about the fuss,” she explained. “And they also like to relax, but if something needs to be done, they prefer to do it now.”
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
MYTH: Libras are indecisive.
TRUTH: Libras are not indecisive, instead they understand the duality of life.
With this Air sign represented by the scales, it’s perhaps no wonder they’re stereotyped as they’re wary of making judgments.
“Libra, like other double signs, likes to listen to both sides of the argument,” Inbaal said.
“They pay attention to ‘he said/she said’ situations and they know that every opinion has some value and some truth to it. But they refuse to be the judge.’
This is not because they are indecisive – rather they have a complex understanding of human nature.
“If you let them pick sides, they’ll push right back, because the Libra wants to be friends with both sides,” she said. “Libras understand human nature and how fickle it can be.”
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
MYTH: Scorpios are jealous.
TRUTH: Scorpios are passionate but also selfless.
Scorpios aren’t known for their stellar zodiac reputation — but Inbaal says these deeply emotional individuals are seriously misunderstood, often by themselves more than anyone else.
And while they may get caught up in intense emotions – often criticized for being possessive and obsessive – they are endlessly loyal and would do anything for those they love.
“Their traditional ruler is Mars, the planet of sex and war, and so Scorpio’s emotions are broad, fiery and passionate,” she explained.
The modern ruler of Scorpio is Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth, and therefore they are capable of personal reinvention.
A sign that this bewilderment will easily be misunderstood, but it’s important to remember that Scorpios don’t have a selfish bone in their body and are actually quite self-sacrificing.
“Their complexity is more difficult for them than for those around them.”
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
MYTH: Sagittarians are unreliable.
TRUTH: Sagittarians are adventurous.
“Sagittarians love adventure,” said the psychic. “They love not knowing where their next meal is coming from. They like to fly down the bottom of their pants.’
Because of their need to be always on the go, there is an inherent aversion to ‘institutions, long meetings and meaningless rituals’.
But they would never force their philosophy on others.
“They like life to be colorful, noisy and hilarious,” added Inbaal. “And if you can’t match their energy, they won’t force you.”
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
MYTH: Capricorns are obsessed with work.
TRUTH: Capricorns are hardworking, but they put just as much passion into relaxing.
Capricorns work hard, the astrologer says – but they also play hard.
“Capricorn is a hard-working sign and they put 100% effort into everything they do,” she noted. “A devoted, practical sign, a Capricorn puts as much passion into relaxing as it does right on the agenda.”
And this goes for everything – there’s nothing this purposeful earth sign can’t accomplish if they set their mind to it.
“Whether the mission is fun or challenging, the Capricorn will approach it with the same ‘can do’ attitude,” Inbaal said.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
MYTH: Aquarians are antisocial.
TRUTH: Aquarians put humanity above all else.
This Air sign, perhaps a little too aptly, is often stereotyped as being isolated with their heads in the clouds.
But this pensive and philosophical nature is rooted in a love of people, rather than an attempt to be excluded from them.
“Aquarius is probably the most idealistic of the zodiac,” Inbaal said. Aquarians are humanitarian, committed to justice and social causes, and that can sometimes take over their lives.
“They can form loving and fulfilling relationships with other people and can even thrive in groups, but when they see an injustice, they rush to right it.
“The truth is that Aquarians put humanity above all else.”
PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
MYTH: Pisces are too naive.
TRUTH: Pisces are optimistic dreamers and will uplift those around them.
These whimsical thinkers are often branded as a bit apart — but Inbaal says this water sign has always been rooted in the communities around them.
“Pisces are dreamers and they are proud of it,” she added. ‘They create fantasy worlds as artists, creatives, writers and painters.
“They enjoy working in the healthcare industry as nurses, psychotherapists, and healers, and even in those careers, their special gift is creating alternate realities for their patients.
“A Pisces will share their optimism and uplift those around them, giving them hope and thus strength.”
