I’m an American living in the UK… these are the British drinks I think are weird – there was one that made me want to throw up
An American man living in the UK has revealed which British drinks he liked and didn’t like – and one that made him throw up.
TikTok user @KJordyyy shared on the social media platform which drinks surprised him the most and which he often finds in UK stores.
Introducing the video he said, “I gotta show you all the drinks I’ve never seen in my life.”
First of all, he raved about the classic Scottish drink Irn Bru, which reminded him of cream soda.
He confessed his newfound love for the drink, saying: ‘Irn Bru has captured my heart’.
He then picked up a bottle of orange-flavoured Lucozade Sport, which he compared to Gatorade, warning anyone unfamiliar with the drink that it has a particularly sweet taste.
After mentioning other soft drinks commonly found in British stores, such as Vimto, Lucozade Energy and Bigga, the vlogger became fascinated by the variety of Fanta flavours Brits could get compared to those available in the US.
He said, ‘I’ve never seen Fanta Fruit Twist, Lemon or Pineapple and Grapefruit.’
About a still drink: The content creator couldn’t understand the Brits’ love for lemonade.
He noted, “It’s like a concentrated juice that you mix with water. I almost threw up the first time I tried it.”
Other users responded in the comments to his video, shocked by his revelation that pumpkin is an unusual product to find in the United States.
They replied, “Wait a minute, Americans don’t have squash.”
Another said, “Man, if you don’t like pumpkin, maybe you just need to find the right proportions. Everyone likes different strengths and it’s hard to judge.”
TikTok user @KJordyyy took to the social media platform to share the drinks he was most surprised to see in UK stores.
One viewer wrote: ‘Squash is so cheap to make, that’s why it’s so popular in the UK. Instead of buying a $2 drink every day, just use squash and fill your bottle for 5p every day.’
Another said: ‘Too bad you couldn’t find Dandelion & Burdock, that’s a nice drink we sell’.
Someone wrote: ‘Cream soda must be different in the US because every American says Irn Bru tastes like cream soda, while it is NOT comparable to the cream soda we have here.’
Another shared: ‘Irn Bru doesn’t taste like Cream Soda. Cream Soda (here in the UK at least) has a slight vanilla flavour.’
