I’m a recruiter and this is how I can tell if you’re a ‘red flag’ before a job interview – and how to answer the most common question asked

A recruiter shared three essentials that should always be on a resume — and interviewee’s biggest “red flags.”

Clio, from the US, shared what she was looking for before an interview and claims she can tell if someone will stay with the company for a long time.

Revealing her biggest secrets in TikTok videoAccording to Clio, recruiters tend to skim each resume for “less than ten seconds,” so a good first impression on paper is important.

To increase your chances of landing an interview, she strongly recommended that you include clear job titles, the length of each role, and demonstrating consistency throughout your career.

“What if I told you that a recruiter can easily tell from your resume whether you’re staying for a long time or whether you’re going to dip?” Clio said in the video.

Your CV will make or break it. On average, a recruiter screens a CV in less than ten seconds.’

“For example, if you have four to five rolls there and they haven’t all lasted more than a year…I’m sorry to tell you, but it’s a warning sign.

“Unless you’re a contractor who makes a living as a freelancer, it just doesn’t look good if you’re applying for a full-time job.”

In another video, Clio said it’s a huge green flag to emphasize career progression, consistency and dedication.

She added that “no one likes a job hopper,” which makes it that much harder to get a call for an interview.

Clio also claimed that she can see within two minutes whether a potential candidate will be hired or not.

When asked “Tell me about yourself,” she said it’s important to answer in a specific way.

“I talk to a lot of candidates and surprisingly this question is easier to answer, but a lot of people don’t know how to answer it,” she said in a third video shared earlier this year.

Clio said the recruiter wants the interviewee to “set the tone” with this question.

“Almost immediately, we can tell by the way you answer that question if you’ll be direct and concise with all the other questions we ask,” she said.

“We know if you’ve taken the time to read the job description because of the relevant issues you’re bringing up, and if you’re reading about the company or the people you’re talking to.”

Clio has gained a TikTok following of over 76,000 people by sharing her helpful insights.

‘I love this!! You can also see how someone is doing by looking at their CV,’ someone commented.

“What if I want to completely change my career, for example from sales to software development?” asked another.

Clio said, “Tailor your resume for each position you apply for. Provide a professional summary/cover.’
