I’m a pro organizer – here is an easy and simple swap to help completely transform your closet

Keeping your house in order can seem overwhelming at times, but a former professional organizer makes it easy with this easy swap.

US-based TikTok user Annika, who goes by the username @sweetandtidy_often shares her tips and tricks on her social media pages and creates videos that incorporate her expertise on how to pack effectively for trips and save space in your closet.

In a new video posted last week, Annika revealed a safe savings tip that can make a “big difference” in your closet when storing pants.

“One of my favorite ways to neatly organize your closets to keep everything looking super neat is to use baby hangers for my pants,” Annika said in the video, showing what they looked like when they were all hung up.

Annika compared what a regular sized hanger looked like with pants on it compared to what a 11-inch baby hanger looks like.

“You can see that my pants on a regular hanger just have a lot of room to slide around, and they usually weight the hanger to a certain side, it just doesn’t look cute,” she said.

She illustrated that there was still plenty of room left on the regular sized hanger and showed how a pair of jeans sit on it.

“It’s a bit more proportional and cozier, and it will also be a lot more compact when you hang it up, you can see how much space you’ll save,” she explained.

“It will cut down on all that visual clutter and make everything look a little more uniform and neat.”

Annika also revealed that she uses this hack not only for her pants, but also for her sports bras and leggings.

In the comments section of her TikTok video, many users were impressed by the seemingly simple exchange.

‘Smart!’ wrote one person. “I never thought that.”

Another agreed, adding: ‘I swear I’m baffled! I love how the simple solutions are the most brilliant! Well done.’

“I can’t wait for my closet to look like this,” someone else wrote. ‘GENIUS.’

Others even shared their own tips for closet organization.

“If you already have a lot of regular hangers, you can hang two pairs of pants on one hanger,” one commenter suggested.

Another wrote: ‘I bought hangers for trousers, they are on Amazon and are open on one side. With trousers they don’t leave a crease like this style does.’

However, Annika isn’t the only one willing to share some closet organizing tips.

Melbourne-based content creator Chantel Mila recently shared her own tricks for maximizing closet space.

One hack included an interesting way to fold jeans so they take up less space on your shelf.

In the video, which was posted to both her Instagram and her TikTok pagesMila folded the legs of the jeans up towards the belt and then in half twice.

The mother of two also gave a tip for storing handbags, explaining that she maintains the shape of the bags by filling them with a resealable bag full of crumpled paper.

Laury Gomez, the founder of UNpile, also previously shared her secrets with DailyMail.com

Gomez recommended using bins to keep everything organized, and replacing wire hangers with ones made of velvet or wood, as they can “maximize space on shelves.”

Additionally, Gomez suggested selling any used clothing that you no longer need to a consignment or thrift store, as this can help you make some extra money.

“Some stores will give you cash or trade-in options – so don’t forget to make it part of your process and help your local community entrepreneurs along the way,” Gomez said.
