Her main suggestion is nature’s laxative: the fig.

“Figs are wonderful,” said the naturopathic doctor. ‘They’re packed with fibre, great for helping with constipation.’

The next tip is simple – and something everyone should do anyway – drink enough water.

“You need to be well hydrated with good quality water to keep things moving,” she advised.

The third is a little more controversial and may take some getting used to, as she recommended adding a drop of olive oil to your morning coffee.

“This is a recipe I shared – you’ll love this,” she assured viewers. ‘It also helps with weight loss, as shown by this study.’

Janine placed the research in the background of her TiKTok, which was published by the National Library of Medicine in 2018.

Consumption of extra virgin olive oil has been claimed to improve body composition and blood pressure in women with excess body fat.

The intestinal professional’s tips left some followers in doubt.

One wrote: ‘You lost me over olive oil in my coffee,’ while another joked: ‘For me it’s anxiety followed by stress.’

Janine regularly urges followers to improve their toilet habits – and makes the claim as much in another recent clip that being ‘grounded’ and Seeing sunlight in the early morning helps turn on all body systems.

“Give me house arrest,” the doctor advised. ‘Especially early in the morning you have to be grounded, with bare feet on the earth.’

She also encourages looking at the sun in the morning, saying it helps set circadian rhythms for the day – and ‘signal’ the first poop in the morning.

Janine also emphasized the importance of ‘going when you get the signal’. Don’t suppress it.’

Other tips she shared included undergoing a full-body detox and increasing fiber intake.

“This is something I like to do at the change of each season,” she said, adding that she uses specific herbal remedies for each detox.

“(Fiber) helps you get the proper movement through the digestive tract,” she explained.
