I’m a mechanic with three-inch nails but men belittle me

A model with extra long nail extensions – who worked as a mechanic for seven years – has revealed that she is constantly judged in the field for her glamorous looks.

Peyton Cicconi, 25, of Oakland, California has spent more than $6,000 on her dazzling claws over the past five years — and refuses to trim them or compromise on her style for her work.

The model who has posed for goth clothing brands Killstar and Vera’s Eyecandy wears fishnet tights and miniskirts as she works on cars – from repairing engines to fitting new wheels.

But the mechanic has revealed that despite nearly a decade of expertise, she is still not taken seriously in a male-dominated field and is regularly harassed on the job.

“As a woman, I face many difficulties in the industry, such as daily harassment and men belittling me,” said the influencer, who has more than 1.2 million fans on social TikTok.

‘When I started the automotive technician course, I was the only woman in my entire class of 100 people.

‘It was also difficult for employers to take me seriously.

“My school principal would call managers to tell them I was able to suspend jobs and they would still be hesitant to have a woman in their store.”

The glamorous bastard says she has been interested in cars since she was a child.

“I loved playing hot wheels with my twin brother,” she revealed. “I started having fun and matching my nail polish colors to the paint on my cars and trucks, so I think it just kind of took off after that.”

As her love of fun, colorful manicures grew, so did her nails.

“I slowly started getting my nails longer every time I went in for a new set,” explains Peyton.

“It took a lot of sets of broken nails and trial and error to figure out the best way to work with it.”

Peyton said many industry professionals also “hated” on her nails.

“It felt so unfair and I felt alone,” she admitted. “I was depressed at one point and didn’t know if I should keep my nails.

‘[But] my videos of me working in nails have started a global movement of confident women who are not afraid to embrace their feminine side.”

The mechanic added that she believes women are “so teachable and a good learner when it comes to auto mechanics.”

“Women definitely feel more confident when they come to a mechanic like me,” she added.

“They know I’m not going to overcharge or scam them just because of their gender.”
