I’m A Lazy Stay At Home Mom And I Don’t Care That My House Is Disgusting – I Refuse To Play Maid For My Family
- American mom Amanda was scolded for being “lazy” and not cleaning her house
A mother of two has been criticized for embracing a “lazy” lifestyle, openly admitting she hates cleaning and doing dirty laundry and letting half-eaten food pile up for days.
Amanda Rose, from the US, is a stay-at-home mom who regularly showcases her daily activities in the form of vlogs.
The 25-year-old was recently criticized for the “disgusting” and “gross” state of her home.
Amanda revealed that her entire floor is covered in dirty clothes and she just “doesn’t care” enough to spend her whole day cleaning.
She prefers to spend her time taking her children to the park or pursuing a hobby, as she is “a mother, not a maid.”

In a recent video, Amanda took her followers on a journey through her messy kitchen.
“This is my morning as a lazy mom,” she said. “Many people ask me how I let my house get so bad, but to be honest, I don’t clean up for myself or my kids.”
Amanda’s kitchen was piled high with dishes and rotting food was smeared all over the counter.
There were clothes, shoes, crumbs, and toys covering almost every surface in the house, with boxes and cleaning supplies everywhere.
The mother usually does not clean up after dinner and therefore throws out her leftovers the next day.
“Honestly, it’s gotten to the point where we can’t see the floor and walk on clothes all day. If we need an outfit, we just take it out of the dryer.’
She added, “Sometimes I forget I did laundry and leave it in my washing machine for two days and have to start the process all over again.”
“Some people can’t sleep knowing their house looks like this, but I’m the complete opposite. I just close my eyes and fall asleep.
“I feel like if I had to constantly clean all day, that’s the only thing I’d have time for.
“I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I’m not a maid. Cleaning is a stay-at-home mom’s duty and I’m cleaning, but I’ll just do one big cleaning and then let my kids mess it up all day.”
Amanda shared that she was “fine” with strangers criticizing the way she lives and it doesn’t bother her.

Many thanked Amanda for her honesty about what her home was like.
“By the time I’ve cooked, fed the kids, washed the kids, and put them to bed, I’m not cleaning anymore!” said a mother.
‘Girl! This is life! Cleaning with kids is like trying to brush your teeth while eating Oreos,” wrote another.
“It’s so easy to fall behind on chores and cleaning, and we shouldn’t feel bad or ashamed about it,” said another.
But others scoffed at her for the “unsanitary environment” in which she raised her children.
“Aren’t you worried about all the cockroaches, ants, and mice that are probably crawling all over your house?” a man asked.
“I have five kids under the age of five and my house has never gotten this bad,” said one mother. ‘What is wrong with you?’
‘No, I couldn’t wake up from that. You have a dishwasher and a dryer – why is it so hard to use them? You wash and dry clothes until the mess is gone,” one woman wrote.
