I’m a flight attendant and these are the annoying things passengers do on planes that are pet peeves for ALL cabin crew
A flight attendant has shared some of her biggest pet peeves with passengers on a flight – from parents changing babies on tray tables to people clipping their toenails.
Natalie Magee, from Colorado, has been working in the industry for a few years and shares her experiences on her TikTok.
The 42-year-old revealed the most annoying things people do on planes that affect ‘every’ flight attendant.
“There are so many (pet peeves), like when people don’t close the bathroom door or leave the bathroom in a mess,” she said.
“Even if you can hear the sink flushing, but not, so you know they haven’t washed their hands.

‘And people who take up too much space in the luggage compartment and want to put all their coats and small items in there.’
Other annoyances include passengers trying to smoke vapes or trying to sneak their own booze on board, or if they have an excessive craving for an alcoholic drink.
Natalie said: ‘(Another pet peeve is) people pressing the call button straight after take-off to ask for an alcoholic drink.’
It’s not just drunk holidaymakers who are frustrating to deal with; parents who let go of their children are no exception.
The flight attendant said, “I’m a parent myself, but when people let their kids put stickers on the plane or draw on it or leave a dirty diaper in the back seat pocket, I’m shocked.”
In addition to these pet hates, Natalie says it’s also annoying when people don’t wear headphones while watching or listening to something.
She said: “They expect everyone to be subjected to their music or what they watch.
‘Also people carrying backpacks and hitting other passengers down the aisle.
‘Don’t throw away their rubbish when we come by and leave it on the ground.
“I also get annoyed when people are on the phone after we close the cabin door and don’t want to turn off their phone or end their call after being repeatedly asked to do so.”
Despite these problems, Natalie loves her job and believes that not all passengers are bad, and that even a simple thank you can make her day.
She said: ‘Honestly, when people say ‘thank you’ when they get off the plane (that’s really great).
“Or if they take the time to look at us when we’re doing the beverage service and say please and thank you, we really appreciate that.
“I also like people helping others with their suitcases, especially mothers and the elderly, because we can’t always help everyone board.”
Natalie says the flight attendants consider the plane their home.

She said: ‘We would love it if people treated the space as their home and were tidy and respectful.
‘We also know that not everyone travels for a fun reason.
“Some people have to attend a funeral or go home to care for a loved one and people are stressed. A little kindness goes a long way.”
She added that they had to go to the toilets barefoot, cut their toenails and leave sick bags on their seats.
One person said: ‘I can’t believe people do ANY of this omfg.’ Another added: ‘Some people really lack common sense and civility.’
