  • A granny on Instagram has gone viral for sharing the cheap and easy hack
  • Users on the site have praised influencer Babs for the “life-changing” tip

As the cashier swipes a packet of digestive biscuits under the barcode reader, the resulting “ping” conjures up a terrifying thought…you forgot to take out the laundry last night.

The rest of your day is disturbed by thoughts of those gorgeous new sheets, pressed damp and festering against the stainless steel drum of the washing machine.

And after listening to Linda’s latest dating disaster at a Starbucks and brownie, then battling traffic home, it’s the predictable horror show in the kitchen. Those sheets need to be washed again and the machine itself now stinks.

Do not worry. A grandmother, who has done a lot of laundry in her day, has revealed a cleaning hack that will keep her washing machine spotless and smelling as good as new.

Instagram influencer Babs (@brunchwithbabs) asked her followers, “Have you ever forgotten to change laundry and leave the wet load in the washing machine overnight only to find a smelly washing machine the next day?”
