Strike back: I’m A Celebrity’s Paul Burrell, 64, has revealed that Fatima Whitbread enjoyed some contraband herself after her furious rant about rule-breaking by campmates

The retired javelin thrower, 62, was deeply unimpressed by the antics of the camp and proceeded to berate them for breaking the rules, even telling Paul that he had disgraced himself.

Paul continued, “The moment Fatima says to me, ‘you have disgraced yourself,’ as she sucked an Imperial coin! That’s a bit rich, isn’t it.

“So she wasn’t so righteous after all. This, of course, is all Gillian told me.’

During the show, viewers watched as it turned out that the group’s dinner was in jeopardy after it was revealed that there was some contraband in the camp that had to be turned in in an amnesty box.

Gillian, who is known to have also smuggled prohibited goods into the camp in her previous series, claimed not to understand the definition of the word ‘contraband’.

Having previously admitted to bringing salt and pepper to the camp, she later shared what else she managed to sneak past producers.

Gillian left her campmates stunned when she admitted that she had taken a spice shaker (hidden in a toilet roll tube), 5 bags of Japanese miso soup powder, cumin powder, celery and garlic powder, 8 spice stock cubes, rock salt, a bag of herbal spice powder, and several bags of nettle tea.

It wouldn’t be a first offense for Gillian, who became synonymous with her sneaky attempts to bring some spice into the camp in 2010.

Known for its strict rules, the show has a host of items that celebrities are not allowed to bring to camp each year, including their own clothes, makeup, salt and pepper, food, and pillows.

The situation sent a shock wave through the camp, with Fatima ranting: “I’m sorry, I’m going to say how I feel about it. It’s not about the individuals. It’s about breaking the rules because I’m a person of principles and want to be true to myself.

But this is an individual thing. It’s not about trying to force something on anyone. It’s just what I believe. So I’m just going to tell you, it’s just how I feel about it.’

Paul chimed in awkwardly: “What I don’t like is people being shamed. I don’t like that, I don’t like that.’

Fatima hit back: “Paul, it is you who have disgraced you. When you take those risks, it’s the consequences that come with it. There’s a principle in it.’
