I’m A Celebrity’s Nick Cummins recalls wild near-death experience

He was bitten by a snake during a bush tucker trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia this week.

And now Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins has revealed it’s not the first time he’s been viciously attacked by an animal.

The Bachelor star, 35, is a self-professed thrill-seeker and told campmate Woody Whitelaw on Wednesday night’s show about the multiple times he’s come close to death.

One of his most terrifying accidents was when he was in the Northern Territory and came across two bulls that appeared to be tied to trees.

“I was penetrated by a bull,” he said. “I walked through and I looked at that one (on the right), I kept my eye on it, and then I was about halfway through and all I heard was the hooves.

“I stepped two steps in and then I heard the popping sound as the (horns) went through (my side), and it just missed my kidney.

“Obviously it went through the fat, muscle and then the side of the kidney. The doctor, when I was flown over or brought in by helicopter, they said, ‘That was a lucky moment.’

Nick said of all his close experiences with death that his accident with the bull was “a chilling event.”

This came after the contestant was bitten by a snake during a brutal bush tucker trial, and thankfully, despite his initial shock, he was fine.

Fans were shocked by the incident, with one commenting, ‘OMG! That is shocking!!! I hope he’s okay.’

“Why isn’t anyone intervening?” said another shocked viewer.

This isn’t the first time a celebrity has been bitten by a snake on the show.

During the 2021 season, Bachelor Rejected Abbie Chatfield fell to the floor in tears and screamed as the snake wrapped its jaw around her hand.
