I’m A Celebrity star reveals 14-year feud with ‘two-faced’ campmate as they accuse fellow contestant of ‘stabbing them in the back’

The I’m A Celebrity jungle has been home to many feuds and explosive rows over the years.

However, for one celebrity, his feud with his fellow campmate continues outside Australia and has now lasted for fourteen years.

Former Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Öpik has revealed he still hasn’t forgiven Nigel Havers after they fell out during their time on the show in 2010.

The politician, now 59, has accused the actor, 72, of being “two-faced” and said he “stabbed him in the back” after he left the show.

Speak with The sun, Lembit reflected on his time on the reality TV series, explaining: “Yes, Nigel Havers was two-faced. He pretended to be my friend.

‘I didn’t realize what he was really thinking until I saw the show after I came out. He thought I was crazy, but to be honest I was making him his tea.’

Nigel was the first contestant to leave the jungle that year, having chosen to leave the show after refusing to take a test that would have given him a mild electric shock.

Lembit continued, “I was his tea boy. And the gratitude I got was that he stabbed me in the back when he came out. That’s unfortunate, and I’d like to point out that I survived him in the jungle, and as far as I’m concerned, I win.”

The pair were joined by fellow participants Stacey Salomon, Shaun Ryder, Alison Hammond and Bond girl Britt Ekland for their series of the show.

And even though Lembit was the second to be eliminated, he revealed that he doesn’t regret going on the show and is honored to be part of a select few who get to experience it.

This isn’t the first time Lembit and Nigel have publicly announced their feud after Nigel made jokes he wanted to ‘kill’ him during the show.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain in 2019, Nigel admitted it would have been great TV if the pair had ever clashed.

“I wanted to kill Lembit Opik,” he told presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

However, Lembit quickly hit back at Nigel when he took to Twitter to accuse the actor of ‘blaming him for everything’

“That would have been great TV,” said Piers, while Nigel replied: “It would have been fantastic. Could you imagine?’

“Why did he turn you on so much?” Susanna asked.

Nigel didn’t hold back and said: ‘Everything he did. He was a good guy. You know when someone really gets on your nerves?

“There was no way out because you can’t read or write, watch television or listen to the radio, it was just Lembit Opik who kept going.”

However, Lembit quickly hit back at Nigel when he took to Twitter to accuse the actor of ‘blaming him for everything’.

He said: ‘Poor Nigel Havers: the only celebrity to walk out of the jungle in my series. He fell into the lake and blamed me. In the car back to the hotel – he blamed me.

‘Now he blames me for his departure from the camp! My apologies for all this: and for his performance at BENIDORM in case he blames me too.’
