I’m A Celebrity… South African viewers were divided during Friday’s episode as they watched Fatima Whitbread continue to grumble about contraband that had been smuggled into the camp.
On Thursday’s show, viewers saw how it turned out that the group’s dinner was in jeopardy after it was revealed that there was some contraband in the camp that had to be turned in to an amnesty box.
Gillian McKeith, who was famous in her previous series for also smuggling prohibited goods into the camp, carried salt and 85 tea bags that she took from her pockets and bra, and on Friday it turned out that she had even more herbs and spices smuggled in .
And the situation sent shock waves through the camp, with viewers comparing it to when Amir Khan secretly ate his prize of strawberries after a task when they were destined for the entire camp in 2017.
Retired javelin thrower Fatima, 62, was deeply moved by the situation and once again berated the camp for breaking the rules, even telling Paul Burrell, who smuggled coffee in, that he had disgraced himself.

She said, “I’m sorry, I’m going to say how I feel about it. It’s not about the individuals. It’s about breaking the rules because I’m a person of principles and want to be true to myself.
But this is an individual thing. It’s not about trying to force something on anyone. It’s just what I believe.
“So I’m just going to tell you, it’s just how I feel about it.”
Paul chimed in awkwardly: “What I don’t like is people being shamed. I don’t like that, I don’t like that.’
Fatima hit back: “Paul, it is you who have disgraced you.
“If you take those risks, it’s the consequences that come with it. There’s a principle in it.’
One person wrote on Twitter, “If Gillian doesn’t go home, Fatima is going to kill her in her sleep for all this contraband.”
While someone else shared, “Fatima has a right to be upset because thanks to those who have smuggled in contraband, everyone is being punished and Gillian sits there grinning like she has no salt to hide.”

“Fatima doesn’t keep that deep,” one show fan wrote, while another tweeted, “Fatima needs to chill.”
“Good God Fatima is just as annoying as it was in 2011. It’s not really that much, you would think they killed someone,” another wrote.
Another person posted, “It’s worse than the strawberries.”
It comes after former boxer Amir made headlines in November 2017 when he and radio host Iain Lee decided to eat the Dingo Dollar Challenge prize without the knowledge of their hungry camp mates.
In addition to the betrayal, Amir later left boyfriend Iain to take much of the blame, despite the boxer being the one who caused the mischievous situation and subsequently sparked mass outrage among their fellow celebs.
The pair were chosen to take part in the daily challenge – with the boxer dressing up as a giant cat while Iain guided the blindfolded boxer through the Jungle Pawn Shop.

Despite a few close shaves, the pair triumphantly won the challenge and headed to the Outback Shack to spend their dingo dollars on strawberries and cream with Keith Kiosk.
And as the camp successfully answered their question about the percentage of Brits who have had cosmetic surgery correct, Amir planted a mischievous suggestion in Iain’s ear about the fruit they had just won.
He said, ‘Shall we eat them and say it was a wrong answer, shall we?’
To which Iain laughed: ‘And then they’ll say wait a minute, is that cream on your mustache? It’s tempting, isn’t it?’
While Iain continued to ponder whether or not to eat the prize, Amir suddenly poured the cream over the strawberries, leaving them with no choice but to indulge in the fruit feast.
“This is the worst thing we’ve ever done,” Iain said before hiding the evidence behind a tree.
On Thursday this week, after Amir Khan won 10 stars in the Supermarket Shriek trial, the celebrities in the main camp would have a delicious meal.
But the dinner was jeopardized after it became known that there was some contraband in the camp that had to be handed in an amnesty box.

Meanwhile, Paul Burrell was drinking coffee and Myleene Klass was carrying salt.
Fatima Whitbread was left furious after the shocking announcement was made about the banned goods – and gave a candid speech to the campmates.
“I don’t agree with people being knocked off the hook,” she raged. ‘Rules are rules!’
