I’m A Celebrity 2023 all-talked-about: Ex-PM and ex-band member among huge names ‘going to the jungle’ as fans ‘can barely contain their excitement’

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will return to host the 23rd series of I’m A Celebrity, when it starts in November.

While a release date for the series is yet to be announced, fans can get excited about the show, set in the Australian jungle, with a first look trailer premiering on ITV.

Rumored campers for the upcoming season of the hit ITV show include a former prime minister, a Drag Race star, a former band member.

Viewers announced they could ‘barely contain their excitement’ after the sneak peak aired during Big Brother, with many sharing their thoughts on X.

Here we take a look at who could be heading to the five-star jungle…

Liz Truss

Former Prime Minister Liz Truss’ name is said to be in this year’s rumours, after Matt Hancock appeared in the latest series of I’m Famous in a bid to revamp his image.

The source said Sun: “After seeing the effect of having the former health minister on the show last year, bosses wanted to repeat the feat in the new series.

“Senior politicians are almost guaranteed to create controversy in the camp – which equates to compulsive viewing for fans at home.”

The Vivienne

Vivienne previously said she would be ‘all in’ to take part in I’m A Celeb, during an appearance on Lorraine.

The first winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK said: “You know what, I never even thought about it, but what an absolutely amazing opportunity that would be!

“I’m petrified of spiders, but take me to that jungle, I’d do it!” What a great opportunity of a lifetime that I will never get again… I’m all for it!’

However, the performer noted: “I’d have to bring all my make-up – I’d need mirrors!”

Frankie Dettori

Frankie Dettori is looking increasingly likely to appear in the upcoming series of I’m Famous.

Last month, odds on the champion jockey, 52, to swap the jungle tracks fell to just 2/1.

This was said by William Hill’s spokesman, Lee Phelps The mirror: ‘Assuming this will be his last season in the saddle, we’ve seen a lot of money put into Frankie Dettori’s appearance on this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in November.

‘There seems to be confidence that the Italian jockey will languish in the jungle this year, with his price of 16/1 earlier this month reduced to just 2/1 as of Wednesday morning.’

Josie Gibson

Josie Gibson is now one of the names being talked about for the 2023 line-up.

The former Big Brother winner, 38, has become a major star on This Morning over the past 12 months, and I’m Famous producers say they are “determined to take her” to the jungle.

A source reportedly told The Sun: “She is seen as the perfect person for the jungle as she is already such a familiar face on ITV and will bring her fans with her.”

James Buckley

James Buckley could be joining this year’s I’m A Celebrity line-up.

The Inbetweeners star, 36, who famously played schoolboy Jay in the comedy series, previously shared his interest in appearing on I’m A Celeb, seeing it as a ‘challenge’.

James said: “I’m not a big fan of celebrity reality shows. But out of all of them, I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! personally it seems the most interesting because it feels like a challenge.

‘I’d be cold, I’d be hungry, and even when you win a meal I’d say, ‘I just want a Big Mac’.’

Olivia Attwood

Olivia Atwood made her celebrity debut in last year’s series, becoming the first Love Island star to enter the jungle.

But her time in the camp was short-lived. Olivia, 32, was forced to retire from the ITV reality show due to health reasons.

She later revealed to the Daily Mail that a routine blood test showed she was “dangerously anemic”, with low levels of both sodium and potassium. ITV decided not to allow her to return to the jungle.

At the time, Olivia admitted she was ‘heartbroken’ and would like to restart I’m A Celeb after it was ‘cut off’ the first time around.

During an appearance on Lorraine, she said: “At some point, I would love to go back. I feel that I owe it to everyone and that there is some unfinished business.’

Danny Cipriani

Rugby player Danny Cipriani is said to be on the radar of I’m A Celeb bosses.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Danny is one of the most exciting signings for this series. There is also great anticipation that he will reveal the secrets of his showbiz lifestyle.

“But he also has a sense of humor that will ensure he is popular with his camp mates and those watching at home.”

Denise Van Outen

Denise Van Outen has previously spoken about wanting to appear on I’m a Celebrity around her 50th birthday.

The star – who turned 49 in May – told The Sun: ‘I’ll do it at some point. I think being a celebrity would be something nice to do for my 50th birthday’

Alan Halsall

Alan Halsall is rumored to be set to follow in the footsteps of his many fellow soap stars such as Simon Gregson and Andy Wyment

The actor – who has played mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street since 1998 – is reportedly “in talks” to appear in the next series of I’m A Celeb.

A source told The Sun that as one of Corrie’s “most loved characters”, Alan comes with a “ready-made fan base”.

“Alan is a consummate guy with personality, so ITV are delighted he’s in talks to join their cast for 2023,” the insider added.

Alec Beresford

Alex Beresford, who famously clashed with Piers Morgan, previously said filming in the Australian jungle would be “awesome”.

The Good Morning Britain weather presenter told the Mirror: “Of all the shows I’d love to do, I’d love to do the jungle,” he said.

“The only thing is, I don’t know how good I would be with snakes and spiders, but I think that’s the show that all of us who work in television want to do, that’s the show, right? I’d be stuck, but I think I’m lying with snakes all around you, ugh!’

Phil Taylor

Phil Taylor has previously admitted he wants to enter the I’m a Celebrity jungle camp.

After the late mentor of darts champion Eric Bristow enjoyed the jungle in 2012, Phil told the Mirror that he was interested in appearing on the reality show himself.

Phil said: “I’d love to work in the jungle – I’m not so sure about Strictly, although it would do me good and get me fit.

“But if they asked me to play jungle, and it fits into my schedule, I’d love to go for it.”

Jade Thirlwall

Jade Thirlwall previously said she would be open to going to the jungle.

The Little Mix star said back in 2021 that she could become an I’m A Celeb campmate, while her bandmates – Perrie Edwards and Lee-Ann Pinnock – were on maternity leave.

Amanda Holden previously quizzed her about going into the jungle on Heart FM, to which Jade said: ‘I’ll try anything once, you know what I mean? I will try.’

Viewers said they were ‘barely excited’ after the first trailer aired on Friday night.

One fan wrote: “The whole commercial #ImACeleb.. I can’t wait. These batches come faster every year. Bring who’s coming in?’
