A careers advisor has revealed the three qualities that all highly likable people have, so you can ensure you ace your next job interview and get on well with everyone in the office.

Erin McGoff28, is a job search expert and regularly shares advice on how to achieve the career of your dreams on her TikTok account, where she has more than 2.7 million followers.

Recently, the New York-based content creator took to the video sharing platform to describe the three traits you should have if you want to be considered charismatic.

Erin revealed that you should strive to be self-aware, kind and take responsibility if you want to get your dream job and get promoted easily.

First, Erin said that charismatic people are self-aware. She also noted that they take full responsibility for everything in their lives

The first quality that highly likable people have is self-awareness.

“They understand their own triggers, shortcomings and tone and how they come across to other people,” she said.

She then explained that someone who was self-aware would politely tell those around them how they feel, rather than taking it out on them.

For example, if they’re feeling stressed, they’ll say, “Sorry, I’m getting a little overwhelmed, can you explain what exactly happened from the beginning?”

Second, charismatic people always take ownership.

“They take complete control of their lives, they don’t make excuses, blame others or victimize themselves,” Erin explains.

She said this was reflected in a work environment by taking responsibility for your mistakes and making sure it didn’t happen again.
