A 62-year-old grandmother and her 25-year-old husband have revealed they plan to have their first child together and have already spoken to three surrogates.
Quran McCain and his wife Cheryl McGregor, both from Rome, Georgia, admitted to This Morning that they would also consider adoption.
Cheryl, a mother of seven from another relationship, has hit back at trolls who say she’s too old to care for a baby.
Speaking via video line, from Atlanta, she said: ‘They said I guess just because of my age I can’t take care of a baby, what? I have more energy than half of these babysitting kids right now and I don’t see it as a problem.
Cheryl said, ‘No, I can’t have a baby, but we’ve done the surrogacy thing where we already had three surrogates and right now we’re looking at another one and also maybe adoption.’

Cheryl said: ‘It’s been a battle with them, us trying to show them it wasn’t a joke. Of my seven children they said that he was using me, we were not using each other, we cannot help who our hearts fall in love with.
“So it’s been a battle, out of seven of my kids, I actually have two, but one that really supports us through everything and it took a while to figure out that they like it.”

‘We are looking for a good surrogate who is willing to sign a contract not to have anything to do with the child after it is born.
‘We don’t want people trying to have a baby for us for financial gain, we’re not that financially inclined.
‘With adoption, we are looking for a biracial baby so that the baby knows, “I have half black and half white parents,” so that he [or she] he would feel that we are his real parents.
“Both of Cheryl’s daughters have had hysterectomies in recent years, otherwise they would have been the best choice to be as close to a biological child as possible.”
