I’m a 6ft 2in woman and I thought I’d never find love until I met my short king – don’t care what people think of our height difference
A 6ft woman wants to prove size doesn’t matter after revealing she found love with a ‘little king’.
Model Marie Temara, 28, once swore off smaller men and even said dating was ‘impossible’ after failing to meet a partner of her height in her native Florida.
After documenting her dating struggles on Instagram, she recently updated fans with the news that she found a boyfriend on Tinder, a man named Matthew who is 6 feet tall and weighs 30 pounds less than her.
Marie – who said her height attracts attention from strangers – now hopes to inspire other tall women to ’emulate short men’ and follow their hearts rather than societal norms.
She explained, “For most of my dating life, I always tried to find a partner who was bigger than me because that’s the social norm.

The model once swore off smaller men and even said dating was “impossible.”
‘However, finding a partner taller than six feet tall was extremely difficult as only a small number of men are taller than that.
“So recently I decided to break the norms of society and started looking for smaller men.”
Marie met her current boyfriend Matthew, 27, when they hit it off on dating app Tinder.
She admitted that she initially felt “insecure” about the “huge height difference,” but over time she has come to embrace it.
“I wasn’t aware of his height until I saw him on our first date,” she said.
‘Although he is tall by most people’s standards, he is a lot smaller and weighs 30kg less than me.
‘Originally I felt a little insecure about dating him because I was worried about what other people would think of our huge height and size difference.’
However, it is not easy for Marie to love Matthew as she said she had to ditch her high heels when going out with him in public.
In an Instagram post, Marie showed what it was like to sleep in a bed with a ‘short king’
She demonstrated how she moved him to either side of the bed
Marie said she was so tall that her height often caught the eyes of strangers
She said, “It’s also very different dating someone shorter and smaller than me because I can’t fit into his sweatshirts when I’m cold, I wear heels without towering over him, and he’s not strong enough to lift me up, so I am the one who lifts him up’.
The content creator – who has 1.9 million followers on Instagram – said shorter men generally have better personalities than taller ones because they don’t rely on their height to attract women.
“So I prefer dating little kings now,” she said.
‘But I’m open to dating at any height, because height is something we can’t change about ourselves, and we’re all at the same height anyway.
‘I usually stand out wherever I go. I can’t go anywhere without someone commenting on my height or asking if I play basketball.
Loving Matthew isn’t easy for Marie as she said she had to drop her high heels when going out with him in public.

‘People always stare at me when I walk into a room and look me up and down.
“When I travel to different countries, people often ask me to take pictures with them because ‘they’ve never seen such a big girl’.”
Marie now hopes to break the stigma that men always have to be the tallest men in the relationship.
She added, “I’ve learned to stop worrying about what other people think and embrace our unconventional relationship.
‘I want to inspire other tall girls to also look for shorter men, because height doesn’t matter in a relationship.

‘My mother (6 feet tall) is taller than my father (6 feet tall) and they have been happily married for 35 years.
“My mother gave the little king a chance and made it one big, big, happy family!”
