I’m 38 and I was worried my 17th baby would arrive on Halloween and look like an alien

A mother of 17 has expressed her fears about having a child on Halloween.

Nancy Young, from the US, feared she would have her 17th child on October 31.

In a YouTube video, the 38-year-old said: ‘I was really hoping I wouldn’t have it that day.

“I felt like if I had him on Halloween, he would look like a little alien or something.”

However, her youngest decided to make an early appearance and arrived two days early: on her eldest son’s sixteenth birthday.

The 38-year-old has quite a brood with no fewer than eight daughters and nine sons.

The mother of 17 revealed that she and her husband initially opted against hosting celebrations for their older child, Elvin, out of fear the new baby would arrive.

She explained, “We kind of postponed making plans for his birthday because I didn’t want to cancel it last minute with his friends or something.

But on the morning of October 29 – Elvin’s sixteenth birthday – Nancy decided to send invitations to all his friends.

She added, “I thought, OK, we’re safe, maybe I’ll have the baby the next day or even on Halloween.”

Despite the false sense of security, little baby Archer had other plans and made his way out into the world just as the festivities were about to begin.

“I started preparing the meal and before all his friends got there,” she said, “I sat down at the table with my husband — and right as I sat down, my water broke.”

“I thought, oh my God, are you kidding me. We had a lot of teenage boys come by and at that point it was too late to cancel.”

The mum-of-17 said Elvin was a ‘pretty nice’ birthday present through his little brother, and revealed Archer was as ‘healthy as can be’

But the celebrations didn’t stop when baby Archer arrived, with Nancy joking that she had a baby while her son had a party.

Some teens may have been embarrassed by it, but Elvin thought having a little brother as a birthday present was “pretty neat,” according to his mother.

Archie came into the word “as healthy as can be,” according to his mother, who revealed that he had a lot of hair when he was first born.

“He’s got a happy attitude, he’s been a really good baby. Even his picky hour is pretty good.”

The harried mom has her own YouTube channel – Real Mom Real Solutions – where she regularly shares her knowledge on how to keep houses full of children clean.

Nancy and her husband, who remains behind the camera, currently have twelve children living at home.

One of her tips is to organize her children’s closet and toys twice a year.

The YouTube channel has amassed quite a following, with 50,000 subscribers and some videos have even been viewed over 300,000 times.

But she doesn’t do it all alone, with her husband who helps behind the camera and their twelve children who still live at home.

She continued, “Although the married children may not sleep here, I think you can still say they kind of live here.”
