Shocking footage shows the moment a young wrestler punched his opponent after tasting defeat, sending his rival to the mat.
The brutal blow came after the game ended, when both minors were about to shake hands.
The incident occurred in Oak Park, Illinois, during a third-place, 125-128 pound contest at this year’s edition of the Beat the Street Developmental FS tournament, according to TMZ sports.
SPAR Academy representative Cooper Corder, dressed in an orange shirt, emerged victorious against Hafid Alicea of Maine West High School. The eighth grader won by a score of 14-2.
When he was about to shake hands with Alicea, who was wearing blue, after the game, he was coldly knocked out by his opponent, causing him to fall straight to the ground.

The incident took place in Oak Park, Illinois, during a third place, 125-128 pound contest
Alicea was then immediately taken off the mat by observers in the crowd while other children and their parents were shocked by what had just happened.
Corder appears to have come out of the incident much better than initially feared, only with a nose injury.
However, it is believed that he will have to wear a face mask during his next matches.
“He’s making the best of the situation and is back in training,” Justin Pearch, founder of SPAR Academy, told TMZ Sports. “As you may know, wrestling matches can get heated, but nothing leading up to the punch would prompt such poor decision-making on the part of the opponent.
“It is not tolerated in our sport and Spar Wrestling will never condone that behavior.”
The Oak Park Police Department is now reportedly involved and investigating the incident.
The incident is also being investigated by the police after it happened during the Beat the Street Developmental FS tournament
