Police investigating the death of a mother of three who was shot multiple times raided the home of her estranged husband.
Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, was found dead at her home by a relative on February 23, after they became concerned that she had not picked up her three children from St Peter’s School in Quincy, Illinois.
Officers pounced on a home on Hampshire Street at 8 a.m. Wednesday, just a mile from Rebecca’s property on Kentucky Road.
Her husband, Tim Bliefnick, 39, lives on site and it is understood the couple were in the process of divorcing.
Sources say business developer Bliefnick was “very cooperative” with officers and handed over the keys to the house, which he rents, and his car.

‘Information learned and evidence collected over the past six days has led us to this point in our investigation.
‘During a criminal investigation, it is not unusual to obtain and serve numerous search warrants for a variety of reasons. Search warrants are a normal part of the investigative process.
Our detectives will allow the information and evidence to guide them as they continue to investigate.
‘The Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Adams County Ambulance Service assisted with the search warrant service.
“It’s important to remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
Authorities previously said they have eight detectives working on the case, as Rebecca’s friends and family shared a ‘Justice for Becky’ image, with the number of the police department.

In a statement, Police Chief Yates said the investigation is “difficult” and “takes time,” before vowing that “an incredible amount of work is going on behind the scenes.”
He added: ‘The Quincy community has not experienced a crime of this magnitude since early 2019. Every death is tragic; the circumstances of Mrs. Bliefnick’s murder are incomprehensible.
‘Our community is shocked, nervous and wants answers. The members of our police department dedicate their lives to protecting the members of our community.
‘When a crime like this occurs, our mission becomes ensuring that there is justice for the victim and that a sense of safety is restored to our residents.

We only get one chance to get it right. Ms. Bliefnick deserves the best and that’s exactly what we aim to give her.
‘We are lucky to live in a community where violent crime like this is rare. When it happens, it’s devastating.
‘Nothing I say here tonight will reassure our community. Making an arrest in this case is the only way to go. We are working very hard to make that happen. This investigation is our top priority.
‘Once again, I offer my condolences to the family and friends of Mrs Bliefnick. May God be with them, with her, and with the investigators seeking justice on her behalf.’
