Bukayo Saka has apologized to Arsenal fans after missing a crucial penalty in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against West Ham at the London Stadium.
The Gunners saw a 2-0 lead disappear for the second time in a week, but they had a golden opportunity to make it 3-1 minutes before the Hammers equalised.
The referee pointed to the spot after Mikhail Antonio’s handball and Saka was the man to act.
The Englishman hadn’t missed one since the Euro 2020 final, but he put him wide and West Ham would send him off minutes later.
After the match on Instagram, he wrote: “Regardless of the outcome, I will always take my responsibility.

It was the gunners’ second game in a row in which they dropped points and their lead over Man City has now been cut to four points, while Pep Guardiola’s men still have a game in hand.
The two sides meet in a few weeks at the Etihad in what looks set to be a title decider.
