In a dramatic start at Wembley, the German midfielder fired a luscious volley from outside the area as the game had only just started, sending City supporters into a delirium.
Pep Guardiola’s side kicked off with Gundogan going straight back to goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
City’s No. 2 stopper fired the ball upfield, with Erling Haaland winning his header.
But when Victor Lindelof tried to clear the ball, he came off Kevin de Bruyne and Gundogan volleyed it into the top corner.
