Athletes are always finding different ways to train to give themselves an edge over their competition.

The 22-year-old Polish star was seen preparing for the Canadian Open with tape covering her mouth.
Photos released from her training sessions show her swinging her racket with the tape over her mouth and taking it off after the session ends.
Swiatek’s decision to use tape left fans on social media wondering what benefits it would bring to her training session.

Twitter users were confused by Swiatek’s new training methods for the Montreal tournament
One fan simply wrote “what?” while another said they were ‘very intrigued/confused’ by this.
Kamakshi Tandon commented, “Many coaches will be very interested in this new training method.”
Meanwhile, another fan quipped, “What do I have to train for every meeting with my extended family.”
However, another Twitter user revealed that Swiatek was “training for nasal breathing.”
They added, “It’s a more efficient and effective method of delivering oxygen to the body’s muscles, whoever trains her this way is smart, tbh.” They aim for maximum stamina and knowing Iga she will get there.’
One fan said on social media that the method was to help train her using nasal breathing
Whatever the reason, Swiatek is clearly pushing herself to the limit as she looks to build on a successful year that saw her win the French Open in June.
Last week, she won her home Polish Open match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Laura Siegemund.
She will begin her Canadian Open campaign on Wednesday against an opponent yet to be decided after receiving a first-round bye.
After her success at the Polish Open, she said: ‘What a week it has been! I read somewhere that this tournament is void compared to the tournaments ahead of me in Canada and the US.
“It was very important to me and I’m glad I felt so much support and positive energy from you. Thanks for that and see you soon.’
