Read the brutal note the IGA boss wrote to customers after his bitter dispute with the milk supplier left the shop without Dare Iced Coffee, as he reveals the reason their relationship soured.

  • He claimed that the absence of Dare Iced Coffees was the distributor’s fault.
  • Owner and dealer fell out after delivery failed to arrive in October
  • Frustrated locals have expressed dismay at the lack of flavored milk.

A mysterious note taped to a supermarket refrigerator has exposed a deep rift between a local shop owner and his supplier of Dare Iced Coffee.

Locals in Albury, on the border between New South Wales and Victoria, expressed their dismay to find the shelves of their local IGA devoid of the coffee-flavoured milk after the dispute.

Gary Evans, owner of the Norris Park IGA, placed a note on the empty fridge to explain the absence of the popular drinks.

“Dare Milk does NOT deliver as the ONLY provider in ALBURY has hurt your feelings,” the notice read.

A local posted a photo of the note on the ‘Meanwhile in Australia’ Facebook page and asked if anyone had more information.

An update on the mysterious saga was quickly provided to them, in the form of another notice posted on the same refrigerator door.

‘DARE MILKS’, the note began.

‘Apologies…the milk will arrive on Thursday due to the unprofessional and rude attitude of the distributor. They have a monopoly and don’t give a damn.’

IGA boss Gary Evans told 2GB radio that the distributor of the flavored milk, Juicy Cow, was the only company with the rights to sell the drinks in its local area.

They have the exclusive rights. No one else can deliver it,” he told host John Stanley.

‘Even if we’ve gone to a different dealer or a different dairy, we can’t get it because they have to buy from him too. [the distributor].

“The biggest problem in all of this is communication. We’ll call you, we’ll email you, but we don’t take phone calls or anything like that.

Evans said his dispute with the distributor began in October, when the store didn’t receive any flavored milk before a busy weekend.

He claimed that the supplier had told one of their employees that they were short-staffed.

‘It’s a really good milk. It’s popular with the locals, with the traditional, we’ve moved on to another brand which is Oak and it’s selling pretty well,” he continued.

“Again, it’s a good milk, he’s the only dealer and he doesn’t even talk to us.”

Social media has been abuzz with hilarious puns after the feud was shared on social media.

“I was thinking they have a moonopoly…” joked another.

‘So much drama! Udderly ridiculous,’ wrote a second.

‘I challenge you to delay deliveries for a month. I dare double the espresso,’ commented another.

“Now everyone is going to go hungry and thirsty,” joked a fourth.

Mr Evans told Daily Mail Australia: “Bega has stepped in and Bega milk will be back on our shelves from Monday.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Juicy Cow for comment.
