‘If those wings are clapping, we know something’s going down in the back’: Pilot reveals what it’s like flying a ‘mile high club’ plane over Vegas that has a cabin fitted with a DOUBLE BED

“When those wings flap, we know something is happening in the back. We don’t know exactly what, but we’re pretty sure… they understood the assignment.’

Captain Anthony ‘Tony’ Blake, a pilot with 42 years of experience, describes to MailOnline Travel what it is like to fly a twin-engine Cessna 414 aircraft during his ‘mile high experience’.

It’s a flight he’s made 3,000 times over the past four years as co-founder and chief pilot of the Love Cloud Vegas tour.

The experience is a private flight over the desert and Las Vegas Strip, where up to four customers at a time join the Mile High Club by having sex on the double bed installed in the back.

“It’s a very personal, romantic date night,” says Tony. ‘We feel it. I feel it. I like to say that I have a very sensitive joystick up front.

“They move their feet and go back. I feel it. It is a smaller, medium-sized aircraft. And we feel everything – unfortunately.’

While Captain Tony says he can feel everything that’s happening in the back, he claims he can’t see or hear anything his beloved passengers are doing.

He explains, “We have our headphones on and they eliminate all the noise. We fly in very restricted airspace. On Friday evenings and Sunday evenings we are generally the busiest in the country.

‘We circle in and out, down, under and around the airspace. There are probably 50 pilots taking off and 50 landing at any given time – 24 hours a day.

‘We hear directional vectors all the time. If we miss two calls, my 42-year license will expire. So it’s very busy in my ears.’

The pilot also cannot see into the back of the plane because of a partition between the cockpit – “we can’t call it a cockpit anymore,” he says – and the cabin.

He noted, “We never took down the dividing line. We have curtains up. Unfortunately that’s all we can do.

‘They have never accidentally landed during a flight. So we won’t see it.’

The interiors of the Love Cloud planes are “continually improved,” but so far they include a spacious bed, sheets and a blanket, pillows and seats where passengers can be strapped in for takeoff.

What passengers do during the Mile High Club experience is their business – it’s ‘fair game’ according to Tony and some go out of their way to bring ‘toy bags’, arrive in ‘sexy lingerie’ or ‘blindfold’ a lover.

Tony said, “When those wings flap, we know something's happening in the back. We don't know exactly what, but we're pretty sure... they understood the assignment.

Fortunately, Love Cloud is strict about the hygiene process.

While Captain Tony jokes about cleaning the sheets ‘once a year’, he told MailOnline that they usually ‘throw them away’ after every flight.

He says, “We have four planes and they all have 45 minutes to an hour of downtime between flights.

“We have a ground crew, we throw out the sheets, we put on new sheets. Last year we bought all the red satin sheets Google has. We buy about 500 a month.

“We have bedliners and the beds themselves are thrown away about every sixty days; these are the cleanest beds in town.”

In addition to the in-air experience, passengers will be picked up from their hotel in a limousine – ‘it comes with complimentary chocolate, champagne and flowers’ – before heading to their flight.

Captain Tony notes, “They’re wheeled into the airport, no security, no TSA, no one’s going to freak you out or look in your bag, and you drive straight to the plane in the ramp with the red carpet out.”

However, if the passengers are too drunk, they are placed under house arrest.

Tony explains, “When I open the door of a limo and I see people falling over, they immediately get back in the limo.

“This is not a drunken party or a disrespectful party. These are lovers. If they’re sloppy drunk, they don’t need to come here on this flight.’

Other common reasons for cancellation are maintenance and aircraft malfunctions.

Tony says: ‘We’re in the aviation business, we have the same bar that any flagship airline would have when it comes to maintenance, probably a little higher because we’re a smaller company.’

Love Cloud passengers must be over 18 years old and from all age categories above.

Tony says: ‘The demographics range from 21 to 80 years old. People over 80 years old come here. More than you would actually think.’

However, they usually fall into one of two demographic categories.

‘Most of our customers, 90 percent, are regular workers. Most of them have never been in a limo before,” Tony says. “The other five percent are – I can’t say porn anymore – content creators.”

Adult video makers book out the Love Cloud to film in the air – five AVN (Adult Video News) awards have been presented to the airline’s passengers for their work behind the divider, the captain notes.

When asked if Love Cloud houses any big names, the pilot says, “We haven’t had any big monster names.”

While the Mile High Club may not be everyone’s cup of tea, former commercial pilot Tony is banking on his success, backed by his small plane that ‘keeps costs down’ so everyday people can afford the experience.

He says, “This is the one job in my life that I can’t wait to get out of bed for…I love it. I mean, I like flying planes and I like sex.

‘I said to my wife, “We’re going to put the two together and we’re going to make the most magical thing out of it.”

‘Even though we don’t know what’s happening in the back, our customers always come with a big smile and come back happy and leave twice as happy.

“At the end of their flight, passengers get a mile-high certificate and a wallet-sized plastic card that says, hey, they’re a member of our club.”

Love Cloud Vegas also offers wedding flights, where passengers get married on the ground before takeoff, and sunset flights.

The mile high club experience is available in three packages: Copper (30 minutes, $995/£785), Silver (45 minutes, $1,195/£943), Gold (60 minutes, $1,395/£1,101) and Platinum (90 minutes $1,500/£ 1,184). Visit: lovecloudvegas.com And www.instagram.com/love_cloud_vegas.
