Elba returns to the character of DCI John Luther in the highly anticipated action film adapted from the hit BBC series.
‘Luther: The Fallen Sun,’ which also stars Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo and Lord of the Rings alum Andy Serkis, is scheduled to premiere Friday, March 10 on Netflix.

He also appeared in some photos with co-star Andy Serkis, 58, who plays serial killer David Robey in the upcoming film.
He looked dapper in a brown suit jacket with a classic white button-down shirt and black pants.
Serkis was accompanied by his wife Lorraine Ashbourne, 62, who showed off the flesh in a black dress with a see-through bodice.

Speaking to Richard Eden of the Daily Mail, Elba said he hopes “Luther can become its own franchise now and we double down on it and do more stories and make it a little bit bigger.”
The television series Luther began its first series in 2010, before ending with its fifth season nine years later.
The fifth and final season of Luther aired for four consecutive nights in 2019.
