A new year always brings a whole host of new devices to get excited about – and it all starts at CES.
The annual show in Las Vegas is a festival of technology, featuring everything from new TVs to laptops to weird and wacky robots – and we’ve rounded up the best of them below.
But that’s not the only news source this week, and outside of CES we got more rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 phones (due in January) and the Nintendo Switch 2 console (expected sometime this year) – so on the subject of technology leaks, 2025 will start much as the previous year ended.
7. We were unable to detect any errors with the OnePlus 13
The OnePlus 13 launched globally this week, meaning those of us outside China can get our hands on it – and judging by US mobile editor Philip Berne’s official Ny Breaking review, it’s a fantastic flagship. Try as he might, he couldn’t find anything to complain about, even though there is a lot to discuss in terms of positives.
It’s described as “nice to hold”, “pleasant to use” and the most powerful phone you can buy right now (at least until the next Samsung Unpacked). 6. We reviewed the first six episodes of Severance Season 2
Another big review that went live on Ny Breaking this week was our look at the first six episodes of Disconnection season 2, and this time it was Senior Entertainment Reporter Tom Power doing the review. In short: this new season will probably be a bull’s-eye on the existing one Disconnection fans, and the show won some new ones too.

5. We saw more Nintendo Switch 2 leaks
Judging by the number of rumors we’re seeing now, it may not be long before the Nintendo Switch 2 is made official, and this week we had another wave of leaks.
One leak actually gave us a mockup of the expected Switch design: it looks like it will be new but familiar, with a larger screen than the current lineup of consoles.
Nintendo has actually stepped in to comment, so steady have the leaks and rumors been. It described the aforementioned mockup as “unofficial,” so make of that what you will. It looks like the updated console will see the light of day in a few months, when everything will finally be revealed.
4. Samsung Unpacked has gotten its official date
Samsung has confirmed that it will be hosting another Unpacked product launch event on Wednesday, January 22, but we don’t know much more than that in terms of details – well, not officially. However, the rumors and leaks surrounding this event have been non-stop, so we’ve made some educated guesses about what will happen.
In short, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will take the lead in the new gadget range – there may be as many as four of them this time – but we could also see news about Samsung’s virtual reality headset and a successor to the Galaxy Ring that launched last year was launched. year. 3. Nvidia unveiled the RTX 5000 series

2. We saw TVs getting bigger and bigger
CES is always packed with TVs, and this year was no different. We got a sneak peek at the televisions that will hit the market in 2025.
