An iconic star of Emmerdale and Coronation Street was left barely recognisable after a major career change.
Jacqueline Pier, 48, swapped the cobblestones for an office when she embarked on a new career path and said she now writes novels.
The much-loved actress, who shot to fame playing Tina Dingle when she joined Emmerdale in 1994, shared a headshot of herself next to the cover of her latest book, In The Still, on X, formerly Twitter.
She subtitled: ‘#APsychicToldMe to change jobs. Now I write novels.’
Jacqueline quickly became a soap favourite and sex symbol of the 90s after joining Coronation Street in 1998, where she played the iconic train driver Linda Sykes.

Her epic storyline included an affair with Mike Baldwin (played by Johnny Briggs) before the star officially left the soap in 2001.
According to her X account, the British star now lives in Victoria, Canada, and goes by the name Jacqueline Chadwick, hence her social handle @jackiechaddy.
After a successful acting career, it seems that Jacqueline has left many things behind and is now focusing on writing equally successful crime novels.
She is the author of the Ali Dalglish series published by Fahrenheit Press, which also includes In The Still, Briefly Maiden and Silent Sisters. She regularly updates her followers on her writing process.
Her novels follow the story of her Ali Dalglish, an expat character who was previously a forensic psychologist and is now a housewife, becomes involved in a series of bizarre murder cases.
Last year, Jacqueline’s character was referenced again in Emmerdale when fans narrows down the list of suspects regarding the identity of Nicky Milligan’s mother.
After it was revealed that Nicky (Lewis Cope) is Caleb’s (Will Ash) son, viewers began speculating about the identity of his mother.
Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) and Tina (Jacqueline) top the list of suspects, while others speculate that Kerry Wyatt or Faith Dingle could be his mother.

Nicky had previously lied about his past, claiming that his mother died when he was a teenager and that he had helped raise his younger siblings.
However, after it came to light that Caleb is actually his father, and the late Frank Tate his grandfather, his true family history has become uncertain.
Nicky confirmed that his mother wasn’t really dead when he threatened to tell his mother that Caleb was sleeping with Leyla Harding.
