An iconic comedian looked unrecognisable as he walked his dog through London’s theatre district on Monday.

She had a casual figure and hid her familiar features under a baseball cap and sunglasses, while her red hair fell in natural curls to her shoulders.

This funny woman has been nominated for seven BAFTAs and has her own sketch series on the BBC and a spin-off film.

She has starred in films opposite Tom Hardy, Selena Gomez and Helena Bonham Carter and also played one of the most beloved characters in Doctor Who.

The actress was spotted out and about in central London with her girlfriends to catch up and enjoy a cold juice on the hottest day of the year.

The axing came as part of a series of ongoing cuts made by the broadcaster in its latest bid to save £500m.

With inflation high and TV licence fees, which the BBC largely funds, frozen for two years, the broadcaster is doing everything it can to cut costs.

Before the brutal culling, Catherine praised the announcer for giving the show the green light last May.

In an interview with VarietyShe said: ‘I think it’s great that the BBC is taking charge of something as incredible as the coronation, but I also think they will say, ‘This is a palate cleanser and a comedy.’

When asked if she had anyone in mind when she created the character, she replied that the character was not based on anyone, saying that Queen Georgina is “a completely fictional creation.”

She did say she had sympathy for the royals, adding: “It must be awful to be constantly watched and scrutinised.”

She joked, “I can’t imagine anything worse than having to dedicate your life to the public.”

In the TV series, the rebellious princess was again involved in a scandal, after which the king decided to send her to Australia to act as the country’s monarch.

He hoped that the unprecedented move would give his chaotic daughter a sense of responsibility, but as befits a true comedy, things didn’t go as planned.
