  • The Red Devils suffered a surprising 3-0 defeat to the Cherries at Old Trafford
  • There's a lot of anger at Man Utd – it's them against the world! It all starts!

Ian Wright has taken to social media smugly after correctly predicting Manchester United would not beat Bournemouth.

United were beaten 3-0 by the Cherries at Old Trafford in one of the biggest shocks of the season, but it was no big surprise for the former Arsenal striker.

Earlier this week, Wright was involved in predicting this weekend's results round as part of a regular segment on Gary Neville's Stick to football show on YouTube.

Along with fellow pundit Roy Keane, Wright refused to believe Bournemouth would be beaten by United, despite Keane pining for a win for his former club.

After being proven right in his prediction, Wright reposted the video on social media with a brutal critique of those who doubted his opinion.

The ex-Arsenal ace appeared alongside Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane

“They were cooking me in the comments!!!!” said Wright on X. He then tagged both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, who are part of the show.

His post was in reference to the reaction he received to his prediction, but Wright was proven right in another disappointing performance from Erik ten Hag's side.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring after just five minutes at Old Trafford, before second-half goals from Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi sealed a memorable win for the Cherries.

The defeat puts even more pressure on manager Erik ten Hag, despite winning the Manager of the Month award earlier this week in November.

Fans were unhappy with the Dutchman's attitude and the team's inconsistent performances after last weekend's dismal performance against Newcastle.

It was Bournemouth's first ever win at Old Trafford and continues their recent good form

While Wright's cohort Neville described the defeat to Bournemouth as 'terrible' and criticized the team's recent run.

United now face a huge week as they take on Bayern Munich in a bid to salvage their Champions League campaign before taking on Liverpool next Sunday.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, celebrated their first-ever win at Old Trafford and have now won four of their last five matches, drawing the other and moving them away from the relegation bracket at the bottom of the table.
