A superyacht crew member has revealed some of the strangest requests she’s received from billionaires at sea.
Giselle Azueta, from Mexico, started her career on superyachts a few years ago after a friend invited her to see one while they were working on board.
In her current role, the 39-year-old is in full charge of the yacht’s interior and dealing with guests with large wallets.
While she loves her job, she has said that some of the client’s demands can be a bit strange at times.

Giselle related a particularly bizarre situation: “On one occasion, a guest of a multimillionaire made a proposal that he pay $10,000 to a crew member who relieved himself on a glass table while lying underneath.”
On another occasion, she claimed that a guest asked that one of the crew members always watch over him while he ate his evening meals.
“And the hostess had to stand in the corner of the dining room watching him eat,” she revealed.
While the requests can be weird, Giselle has revealed that saying “no” isn’t an option in the yachting industry.
She explained, “Aany request, no matter how strange, crazy or strange it may seem, [it] it is our duty to do so.
“As long as it’s not sexual or threatens the health or life of the crew.”
Giselle believes that being attractive helps to get a job in the yachting industry.
The yacht builder explained: ‘Superyacht owners also say that the crew should match their yacht, they should be as beautiful as their yacht.’

For anyone looking to get into the industry, Giselle recommends at least trying it out as it makes you grow as a person and become extremely independent from it.

The 39-year-old loved the environment and the idea of being part of the industry, so he started looking at courses.
“I’ve always loved the sea and traveling is my passion,” Giselle, who is now the “Chief Stewardess,” told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
“In the family we had a yacht in Puerto Vallarta, so I had a vague idea of boats and grew up sailing.
“I never thought it was a career like this when I discovered it, but it quickly became a dream to work as a stewardess on superyachts.”

She said, “I am responsible for making all crew purchases, guest preference list, decoration purchases, and guest amenities.
‘I like to plan the events and themed dinners!
“But I also have to manage the laundry and housekeeper and the administration and bookkeeping of the yacht.”
For anyone looking to get into the industry, Giselle recommends at least trying it out as you say it will make you grow as a person and become extremely independent.
She added, “You know yourself a lot because you spend a lot of time with yourself.
“It’s a very well-paid industry and it’s also a very superficial industry.
“But all the incredible places, the views, the sunsets, the friends and friends from different parts of the world make it all worth it.
“The crew becomes your family.”
