‘I won’t go on loan again’: Folarin Balogun says Arsenal will have to play him or sell him

Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun will refuse to go out on loan again, saying the club will have to play him or sell him as he looks for a solution for his future

  • Folarin Balogun still has a two-year contract with Arsenal
  • The forward scored 21 Ligue 1 goals on loan at Stade de Reims last season
  • There is enough interest from other clubs and he wants to make sure he stays

Folarin Balogun says Arsenal should integrate him into their first team next season or sell him this summer.

Balogun had a brilliant season on loan at Stade de Reims, scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1.

That has sparked interest from clubs across Europe, as the attacker is only 21 years old.

Arsenal already have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah battling for the number 9 position and could capitalize on Balogun’s form to fund their moves for other causes.

And Balogun, who has two years left on his deal, wants a fix for his future.

“What I can say is that I will definitely not be loaned out again,” he said after scoring his first goal for the USA in their victory over Canada in the final of the Concacaf Nations League on Sunday evening.

‘I’m not sure [about] the discussions that are going to take place, I’m not sure what’s going to happen.

“But I’m just committed to now, I’m trying to stay present. Of course I want to enjoy the moment with my team and my family.’

Balogun, who previously played on loan at Middlesbrough, is a product of Arsenal’s academy and has made 10 first-team appearances.

Most of those came in cup games and he is clearly looking to play a meaningful role in the team if he wants to stay.
