‘I wish them well’: Mary-Louise Parker reacts to ex Billy Crudup’s wedding to Naomi Watts
Mary-Louise Parker responded warmly when asked in a recent interview about her ex Billy Crudup’s marriage to Naomi Watts.
The Weeds actress, 58, previously revealed that Crudup, 54, who she had been with for eight years, left her in 2003 for Homeland star Claire Danes, while she was seven months pregnant with their son.
There doesn’t seem to be any ill will between the two though as when asked about his marriage to Watts, 54, during an interview with The protector she replied, “I wish them well.”
‘I wish them all the luck, of course, because that is my son’s father. So I’m happy for them. I’m glad they found each other,” she added. Parker and Crudup share son William Atticus Parker, 19, together.
Mary-Louise broke her silence about that time in her life in her 2015 memoir, Dear Mr. You. Danes, 44, who split from Crudup in 2006, also discussed the controversial romance and backlash she received that same year.

Good wishes: “I wish them well,” the Weeds star – who previously revealed that Crudup, 54, left her for Claire Danes, 44, in 2003 while she was 7 months pregnant – said of the union
“I was just in love with him. And I had to research that and I was 24… I didn’t know exactly what those consequences would be,” she said during an interview with Howard Stern.
“That was scary,” she said of the backlash she received. ‘That was very difficult. I didn’t know how not to. It’s OK. I went through it. We’re friendly – we’re friends.’
When Billy and Clare broke up, he was rumored to have been dumped by Clare for another co-star, British actor Hugh Dancy.
Clare and Hugh marry in 2009 and remain married.
Meanwhile, Billy seemed to have found his happily ever after with his long-term girlfriend Naomi, whom he married on Friday.
The British-Australian actress posted a photo of herself and her new husband posing on the steps of a Manhattan courthouse shortly after they tied the knot, adding the caption: “Hitched.”
Naomi looked stunning in a white $7,400 Oscar de la Renta Sweetheart Water Lilly Guipure dress alongside her actor husband, who currently stars on The Morning Show.
The Mulholland Drive star wore her cropped blonde hair curled and parted to the side, and accessorized her look with open-toed pumps, a diamond necklace and a gold wedding band.

New York native Billy, meanwhile, wore a navy blue suit and looked sparkling with his clean-shaven face and shaggy salt-and-pepper hair that was combed back dramatically.
After the ceremony, Naomi shared a photo of the newlywed couple with actor Mark Ruffalo and his wife Sunrise Coigney.
The famously secretive couple previously sparked wedding rumors after they were spotted in wedding attire on Friday.
Naomi first sparked rumors that she and Billy were engaged earlier this year when she debuted a huge diamond with a tasteful marquise cut, along with a diamond-encrusted band.
The King Kong star appears to have worn the ring at least as far back as March, and she was spotted wearing the sparkler on the red carpet at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills.
However, the star declined to confirm the engagement chatter, even after American Today host Hoda Kotb directly referenced it during an appearance on the morning talk show in late April.
Naomi and Billy met on the set of her 2017 Netflix series Gypsy, in which she starred as a therapist who uses an alias to develop close (and unethical) relationships with people closely associated with her patients, while Crudup uses her husband played.
The costars began dating later in 2017, a year after Naomi split from her partner of 11 years, the actor Liev Schreiber, 55.

The friendly exes share two children: Kai, 14, and Sasha, 15.
Since they started dating, Naomi and Billy have kept their public appearances to a minimum and have largely avoided commenting on their relationship, though Naomi has occasionally shared sweet photos of herself with her boyfriend on social media.
During an earlier interview with Porter Edit in 2019, the actress told The Impossible about their blended families and co-parenting together. ‘We do it very differently.’
“I’m quite proud of us, trite as that may sound. We have made it our absolute priority to be good and kind to each other and we are absolutely committed to that.’
