I went on a lunch date with the world’s most famous adult star Angela White, writes JANA HOCKING, and everything is about to change for me in the bedroom
It’s not every day that an email pops up in your inbox asking if you’d like to have a lunch date with a world-famous adult star. But last Tuesday, that’s exactly what happened.
I stared aimlessly into the abyss, wondering if I should commit to another season of Real Housewives or stick to Vanderpump Rules when ‘ping’ the invite comes.
It took me all of 0.03 seconds to respond with an “absolute yes” to the lunch date before I went to a particularly tacky site in the name of “research.” How much fun my work is.
I typed in Angela White and up came her subscription site which had a whopping 931,000 subscribers – which is nothing compared to the 9.9 million followers she has on Instagram.
As I scrolled through the videos, I came across many preferences to choose from. Lesbian, group, solo, DP, threesomes and much more that are way too spicy to mention here.
Jana Hocking, pictured right, had lunch with adult star Angela White
At first she felt intimidated by the busty pocket rocket – but Angela, pictured, quickly put her at ease
I’m not going to lie; I was slightly shocked. Here was a woman who was up for anything AND she was brave enough to put it on film. I suddenly felt very vanilla.
She seemed fierce, fantastic and in charge. I was a little intimidated to meet her, but my curiosity far outweighed my hesitation to back out.
It turns out I was nervous for nothing, because when I arrived, I was greeted with a big, warm hug from a little pocket rocket of a woman, who was the same height as me – 6 feet tall – but with huge natural breasts that she highlighted in a sexy all-black ensemble. She was quiet but confident and very feminine with flawless skin, hair and makeup.
I have to admit I expected her to be a bit tough and defensive as I was about to ask her some pretty in depth questions about her chosen career, but luckily she was nice and had a great sense of humor .
Jana said Angela was eager to talk about everything, which made the girls’ conversation wonderful
I knew we would have a good girl talk at lunch.
We sat down to order, and I promptly asked for a dirty gin martini and she ordered… water. It turns out Angela doesn’t drink. I’m embarrassed to admit that my first thought was, “Well, how on earth does she get through her scenes?”
I quickly discovered that her job is a true passion project; In fact, she confessed that she knew she wanted to work in porn since she was fourteen. So no alcohol needed, just a healthy libido. Bravo, Angela, bravo!
Over the next hour and a half we enjoyed a decadent lunch and nothing-off-limits conversation, which left me a little impressed.
Here are eight facts I discovered over lunch that shocked me…
1. Her most popular content is called ‘Gonzo Scenes’
Hardly a sexy name, but these are unscripted scenes that bring the viewer into focus.
So it could be filmed by one of the people participating in the scene with a handheld camera, or by a director who has also agreed to participate in the scene. She said “not necessarily sexually, but they can ask the talent questions or tell them what to do, or sometimes they are part of the scene.”
It comes from Gonzo journalism, a form of writing where they are part of the piece. She said it’s “the most natural, authentic and allows for the most chemistry.”
They met for lunch and talked at length about the porn industry
2. You don’t just show up on set and take out your gear
Oh no. There is a long process that professional porn stars have to go through before they reach a record. I found it fascinating.
First, the porn company will contact her agent first, who will then contact her and walk her through the shoot they want to make happen. She gets script approval and then has to sign a document that clearly outlines what she will and will not do in a scene.
She then has approval over the talent that is in the scene with her, and her outfits.
Once she’s on set, she and the other talent sit down with a talent liaison officer and go through a “boundary checklist” that once again outlines what they will and won’t do. There is also room for clarification.
The list goes on. The talent liaison is also present to advocate for artists’ rights. They view the entire scene and can intervene if necessary.
Angela said that a sex scene also takes a lot of preparation and there are some actions she prefers to do with specific partners.
Angela revealed that porn scenes are 30 minutes long and are ‘a cardio workout’
3. The general rule is that a porn scene should last 30 minutes
Oof! Even though most people can’t last that long, the general rule of thumb for a porn movie is that it should be 30 minutes long. Angela admitted it’s the equivalent of a full cardio workout.
4. The secret to keeping a loyal audience is making it feel personal
She said that many reality stars go on OnlyFans and don’t last long because the viewer just wants to see them naked and then log off.
She said she keeps her audience through authenticity and engagement with fans, constantly responding to messages and taking note of feedback.
Every month she analyzes the data and discovers which videos have been purchased the most.
Angela said: ‘Threesomes are very popular because for men that is their ultimate fantasy.’
5. Her most popular videos are instructional videos for women
Yes, her female fan base is large, and women pay a lot to get videos from her.
“I call them Jill-off instruction, and the women love it. I actually use my flashlight, a mold of my own vagina, to show them how I like to be touched,” she said.
I was immediately fascinated and asked how a flashlight is made, and she explained, “There are people in the room waiting for you to get excited before they paint goo on your vulva.”
‘So now I have my own toy and it’s really fun because I get to use it in my videos to show women (how to reach an orgasm)’.
I embarrassedly told her that I always assumed OnlyFans was made for men, but she said that some of her highest paying audience are women because they like the more intimate videos.
“Women are sexual beings and there is a real market for them,” she said.
Jana said she could never be a porn star
6. She is non-monogamous and polyamorous
Angela said she has had a strong libido since her teenage years and likes to be open to any opportunity.
When I asked her how she interacts with multiple people, she said that most people are okay with sharing, but that doesn’t mean they want to.
‘Sometimes this is because there is a difference in libido. I think whatever relationship dynamic works for you is the right one,” she said.
But for her, it’s ethically non-monogamous at this point.
7. She credits the movie ‘American Pie’ with allowing her to never quit the industry
Yes, Stifler’s mother has a lot to thank! I asked Angela what the next step was when she reached an age where it was “no longer viable,” and her answer pleasantly surprised me.
Explaining that it is not possible to leave the industry, she said: ‘Older women are really valued in the adult entertainment industry, and American Pie has a lot to do with that and calls it ‘the MILF revolution’.
She said: ‘Mature women have become a cultural phenomenon because they know what they want and are sexually experienced.
‘I think it’s positive because culturally there’s a general idea that women lose their sex appeal as they get older, and that’s shifted a bit. We see it through downloads.’
8. The porn industry has strict rules around STD testing
I had a theory that it’s probably safer to be a porn star than a single person in Sydney right now, and she couldn’t agree more.
They have three different tests that they must legally undergo every fortnight.
“They test for everything and I overlap mine, so I get a test every 12 days,” she said.
“The best thing about this industry is that we learn about new STDs before the general public does. We know the latest science, the best ways to test and the best treatment. So every 12 days I get tested: vaginal swabs, throat swabs, anal swabs and blood draws. We are always on top of it,” she says.
She even went so far as to show me her latest results. She has no worries when it comes to her health and safety.
I left the lunch with a new respect for the industry and its work ethic. Here’s a woman who took a career she was passionate about and turned it into a multi-million dollar business.
Is it something I could ever do? No. I once tried to film myself with an ex and watching it back wasn’t cute. So kudos to those who not only do it, but look good doing it. I would go so far as to say that it is truly an art form.
