A young woman was shocked when a stranger touched her stomach on a night out and thought she was pregnant when she was not.
Fitness influencer Elloise, from Sydney, has lost more than 30kg in a year and has ‘loose skin’ over the lower part of her torso, which she talks about as part of her weight-loss journey.
She was “so excited” to attend a brand event in October because she was such a fan of the company, but the evening didn’t go as expected. In fact, she ended the evening on the verge of tears as she fled to her car.
She had put on a cute summer floral dress with a thigh-high slit and claps underneath to feel ‘extra cute’, so she oozed confidence when she arrived.
“I just experienced the most fucked up thing at an event,” she said in a TikTok video she called a “horror story.”

‘I’m a size 14, my body is quite curvy, I have a lot of loose skin because I used to be a lot bigger and I’ve lost some weight. All that loose skin just happens to be at the bottom of my stomach,” she said.
‘I’m going in [to the event]Everything is well and good, and then this worker comes to us and she has these ‘naughty or nice’ stickers,” she continued.
‘She puts a “nice” sticker on my arm, then touches my stomach, as if she were placing a full hand on my stomach, and says, “How about a sticker for this little one?”
Elloise said the staff member gestured to her stomach as she asked the question.
“She was clearly referring to the ‘baby I have’ because she said I was pregnant and she put a sticker on my stomach that she touched even though it was the first time I had ever met her,” she continued.
‘By the way, I’m not pregnant. Who says that to anyone? Seriously, it’s 2023.’
Last year Elloise lost 30kg and as a result said she had ‘loose skin’ on her stomach
Elloise was with a friend who had not realized or heard what had happened.
“So I just walked away, what can I say to that? This is a work event, I’m representing myself and I don’t want to seem rude or anything like that. But I was so shocked,” Elloise said.
‘I don’t think I really let it affect me. I kept going on and on about my night, but… now it’s having an effect on me.’
She ended the clip by reminding others that it is “never okay to ask someone if they are pregnant, let alone touch them.”
Elloise then described the situation as an ‘unfortunate incident’.
“I thought I was doing okay, but I knew it would hit me a little while later and it’s hitting me now,” she said as her voice began to break.
‘[The staff member] came up to me later and said it was the second time she did it [made the mistake] at! Like it! Why didn’t you learn it the first time?’ She added.
The video quickly racked up over 1.1 million views and many others shared similar experiences.
Last year, the body positivity advocate condemned those who called her “brave” for wearing tight clothes at the gym
“Even if someone is pregnant, that still doesn’t give anyone the right to touch their stomach or ask about it,” one woman said.
“Worst nightmare has happened to me a few times,” wrote another.
A third said: ‘I’m pregnant and would be shocked if someone touched my stomach. I’m sorry this happened to you.’
“I was once offered a seat because the guy clearly thought I was pregnant,” said another.
Another wrote: ‘I’m a plus size flight attendant and get it all the time – it’s absolutely humiliating and so upsetting every time.’
Elloise has built a huge following online by posting about her passion for going to the gym, her weight loss journey and messages about ‘self-love’.
Last year, in another tearful video, Elloise called out those who called her “brave” for wearing tight clothes to the gym.
The fitness fanatic lost 30kg in just 12 months and has enjoyed maintaining her exercise regime for the next three years but she has excess skin around her stomach that has never gone away.
‘As a result of that weight loss, I have a lot of loose, hanging skin… in the lower part of my upper body. I was told it would go away but it never did and it’s something I’ve just accepted and it’s just a part of me,” she said.
