An L-cup woman who was tormented by bullies for years has undergone a life-changing breast reduction that left her ‘shining’ with joy.
Amba Rose, from the Midlands, was constantly verbally abused by classmates who mocked her with nicknames such as ‘civil nipples’.
The abuse continued online, where the 23-year-old received horrible comments from men on social media.
After more than two decades of struggling with her self-confidence and constant physical pain, Amba decided to go under the knife to reduce the size of her chest. Switching from an L to an E cup has changed her life for the better.

Amba said, “This is something I’ve really struggled with since I was a teenager and people were so horrible at school.
“They called me things like ‘burger nipples’ and would print out burgers and stick them on themselves and dance around and imitate me like I was a joke.
‘They also often make comments as if I only had breasts because I was fat.
‘It was a horrible experience and I felt so self-conscious.
“Even when I was growing up and going to college, people wouldn’t look me in the eye; they just stared at my chest.
‘I would walk into rooms and hear gossip about me everywhere I went.
‘I also discovered that if I was just friendly to a boy, other girls wouldn’t like it and would behave differently towards me.
‘When I put myself online it got even worse because I started getting disgusting comments on my photos. I am so much more than my chest.’

Amba said that even when she was growing up and going to college, people didn’t look her in the eyes – they just stared at her chest
She said people would say she only had breasts because she was “fat,” which made her feel self-conscious

She said: ‘I had to pay for a private chiropractor and take off work several times due to the back pain caused (my breasts).
‘I’ve wanted a breast reduction since I was 15, and I’ve been pleading with doctors to have it done for years.
‘I even raised the price to have it done privately, but it would have cost £12,000, which I couldn’t afford.
‘I worked from the age of fifteen and, despite my savings, had to get through life by paying the rent and finding my own way.
“I come from a lower economic background, which means I haven’t had any help from my family with money matters.

Finally, in July this year, she was taken to the operating room for a bilateral breast reduction
Amba proudly showed off her transformation on Instagram. She said she has lost 6,000 followers since the surgery, with men saying she is now ‘good for nothing’. But it is a ‘blessing in disguise’ for Amba
The beauty said she felt ‘so emotional’ when she woke up after surgery as it was something that had affected her mental health for the past seven years
‘The criteria is based on BMI and because of the size of my breasts and my height, my BMI was super high.
‘I went to university in Winchester, a much smaller place than my hometown, and I thought I would have a better chance of being referred here.
‘After much back and forth, a panel finally said yes – I was over the moon.’
Amba was placed on a two-year waiting list in 2021. The waiting list started the moment her funding was approved.
Finally, in July this year, she was taken to the operating room for a bilateral breast reduction.
She added: ‘I felt so emotional when I woke up after the operation.
‘This was something that had affected my mental health for the past seven years.
‘It was a strange feeling to have carried something (the weight) for so long and then (suddenly) not have it there anymore.
‘Doctors also had to cut my milk duct, which means I will no longer be able to breastfeed in the future.
‘My surgeon was very open about the fact that I couldn’t breastfeed.
‘There are different ways to perform a breast reduction so that they can preserve the milk ducts, but I don’t mind not breastfeeding.
‘It is the safer option to avoid a greater risk of nipple necrosis, and children are not an issue at this time.’
Amba is still in recovery and will be in this process for anywhere from six months to a year. However, she already feels like a new woman.
She added, “I feel like I’m glowing. I have no back pain, I don’t need time off work and I can do sports and activities that I really enjoy, such as trampolining.
“My boyfriend, friends and family have been so supportive throughout the journey because they know how desperately I wanted it.
‘Since my operation I have lost around 6,000 followers, with men saying I am now ‘good for nothing’. But for me, it’s a blessing in disguise.”

‘You also need to be aware of how long the recovery process will take. It may feel like a big step, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.’
