I tried Kim Kardashian’s £350 Beats Studio Pro but I’m not a fan of nude headphones
She has already made a name for herself as a reality star and business magnate.
And now Kim Kardashian, 43, has added another crowning glory by launching her second collaboration with Beats.
The ‘Beats Studio Pro – Kim Special Edition’ went on sale this week. Apple describes it as an ‘instantly classic collaboration’.
Available in three neutral shades, the headphones boast some impressive features, including active noise cancellation and a whopping 40 hours of battery life.
But are they worth spending £350 on? MailOnline’s Shivali Best got hands-on with the new headphones – and wasn’t convinced by the colour scheme.

The Beats Studio Pro themselves aren’t new, with the original headphones going on sale in July 2023. What’s new about this collaboration, however, are the neutral colors, which Kim describes as “chic”
Kim first collaborated with Beats in 2022, with a special edition of the Beats Fit Pro.
These neutral headphones were unique to the market and quickly became the brand’s best-selling collaboration.
Now she’s back with the Beats Studio Pro: an over-ear headphone inspired by her signature neutral color palette.
The Beats Studio Pro themselves aren’t new; the original headphones have been available for purchase since July 2023.
New to this collaboration are the neutral colours, which Kim describes as ‘chic’.

“I’m so excited to bring these three popular, chic colors to Beats’ most iconic and cutting-edge headphones,” said Kim.
‘Beats Studio has always been a fashion statement, so I can’t wait to see how everyone styles them.’
Buyers can choose from three shades: Moon (light), Dune (medium) and Earth (deep).
I have a natural tan, so I chose Dune, which turned out to be a great match for my skin tone.
The headphones themselves are completely skin-colored, except for the extensions, which are copper.
They come in a small carrying case with the ‘beats x kim’ logo.
If you don’t like keeping your headphones in a case, you can easily repurpose this bag as a makeup bag for your Kardashian fanatics.
Kim describes the nude tones as chic, but I still wonder why you would want nude over-ear headphones.
In Kim’s previous collaboration, Beats Fit Pro, the skin tone made sense because the earbuds sit in the ear.
They come in a little mesh carrying case, with the ‘beats x kim’ logo on it. If you don’t keep your headphones in a bag, you can easily convert this into a makeup bag for your Kim Kardashian-loving friends.
These new headphones, on the other hand, sit over the ears, with a thick band that runs over the head.
A colleague noticed that if you blur your eyes, the headphones make it look like there is a bald strip running across your head.
This might be less of an issue if you have blonde or no hair, but it’s not a great look if, like Kim and I, you have dark hair.
Color issues aside, like the original Beats Studio Pro, these are excellent headphones.
The over-ear cushions are made of seamlessly processed leather and are soft and comfortable on the ears.
Weighing in at 260 grams, the headphones are so light you’ll barely feel them on your head.

Unlike the heavy 451-gram Dyson OnTrac headphones I recently tested, you can wear these headphones all day without experiencing headaches or discomfort.
The headphones are also very easy to set up. All I had to do was press the ‘on’ button on the Beats and within seconds a pop-up appeared on my iPhone asking me to connect.
Most importantly, the sound quality is excellent.
Immerse yourself in 360-degree surround sound and there’s no tinniness. Both music and sound sound clear and rich through the Beats headphones.
At the touch of a button, you can also switch between the two dynamic listening modes (Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode), allowing you to filter out background noise whenever you want.
In short, I’m a big fan of Beats Studio Pro, but maybe Apple’s original colors are more my thing than Kim’s signature color palette.
